i been into making music and becoming a dj lately, and now im starting to think this would be a great way to get into all the parties and amog the damn place. House music is getting strangely popular where i live for some reason.
What do you guys think of this?

Definitely. I have the same exact plan, too. Djing will definitely help in parties.
By the way, what programs or turntables do you use?

Both. I currently produce and make beats and jams with Fl Studio and currently trying to figure out how to DJ with Ableton Live. No turntables here, just a MIDI controller called APC 40. Although, I might be using my iTouch as a turntable for scratching and beat matching, but I'm still not set on the decision for that haha For my sets I'll probably have a mix between custom remixes, official remixes, and standard songs.

I dont dj parties yet, i only produce my own stuff. Once i get it out there though and hopefully start earning some bank, i'll go on tour and do some shit. I have a friend who owns a dj company though, he does weddings, dances and all sorts of stuff, earns tons of money.

Well, it depends on what type of DJ are we talking about here. Are we talking about the wedding DJ that plays songs off of iTunes, a performance DJ such as deadmau5 or Tiesto, or a mix between the two like a guest DJ for radio that mixes anything and everything?
But damn, tour? Hell, I'm not even thinking about touring. The problem with having music as a career is that you spend most of your time, if not all, with limited money, support, and that hope that you will make it big that almost never comes true. Plus there's the music business where kids like Justin Bieber get ahead when they got 4th in a contest yet someone with actual ability never sells a track.

yo - can some of you guys post your shit in the music section? I'd love to hear some...i've always wanted to make some sick house/techno/dance mashups/songs/beats but have always failed haha. I just love techno music/house.
Fav techno song - Miami to Ibiza - Swedish House Mafia. Absolute Jam. Great for fist pumping haha

Def dj dude, I did at a few parties and people didn't stop talking about how much my djing made the party 20 times better. A few girls tried to kiss me (I had a girlfriend who was there, and they were also fairly drunk haha). I even played Levels by Avicii like 3 times and each time everyone was dancing like mad. DJing is a huge DHV and a good way to make a name for yourself.
