^ That is the 2nd side of it, the future phase. There are many people out there who do not have lifestyles set up which are attractive, and aren't very attractive themselves. Therefore, they dont have anything to base their identity off of...because their true as of identity is unattractive. Thus faking it till you make it.

If you fake it, but do it well...that will help you build that identity up which you desire. Then be able to make your own shit up from your identity, which is the goal. But the problem is getting there

Sure, you could just use your current identity, and maybe itll work if you can pull it off. But if you have nothing going for you, thats hard to do. Success breeds confidence, and you gotta play to win.

There's no "best" method in my opinion, it's about blending them to form what suits you best.
