Don't get skin-tight stuff. It should be fitted but not emo tight. Jeans wise, go for a regular fit.

I got a wide waist too, but gabba jeans usually get the job done. they fit everyone, really, and the newer styles (can't remember the names, though. I work at a fashion store, so yeah, it's too bad ): ) are really awesome!
