Difference between a Pimp/Player/PUA?

Hello,

What sets a pick up artist apart from a player or a pimp?
I hear these three terms a lot, and to me it seems like a 'Player' is pretty much a PUA...?

A pimp would not normally be put in the same category as a player or pick up artist. A pimp generally is involved in the sex trafficking industry and unless you live in Nevada, is a criminal.

A player/playboy is a do them and leave them type (not love them and leave them type), he is generally extremely good at seducing women, but he doesn't really think much of it and spends most of his time pursuing other ventures and in the process of pursuing his passion enamors many of the opposite sex.

There are two types of players in the world. There is the masterful lover playboy and there is the two-timing playboy. Most playboys are thrown into the second category, giving players a bad rap. Two-timers are the guys that engage in serial monogamy but generally have low self-control, causing them to often cheat, or if not that, dump the female as soon as he's bored (the more economical choice, and makes sense). The masterful lover basically lets his intentions of a night of pleasure with no strings attached be known and usually attracts girls that hold as open of a mind about sex as he does. Thus, this kind of player really doesn't get much flack.

A pick-up artist is somebody that works to perfect the craft of meeting and engaging in relations, sexual or otherwise with women. Unlike the player, he doesn't just "naturally" get it and generally works hard to get where he's at. Unlike the player he would go out with the intention of meeting women and forces himself into things like cold approaches in order to meet new women. A pick up artist is an analytical predator, constantly reassessing his position in order to reach the goal without much interference. In theory pick up artists are supposed to be the most successful seducers in history, but most are just losers with fake personalities tacked on.

The ones that really do get it end up similar to a masterful lover type player, with more interest in monogamy.


About 50% of that was all bullshit.

Dude, don't worry about it, it doesn't really matter, you're not aspiring to get labeled, you're aspiring to achieve a greater you. But I wouldn't advise aspiring to be a pimp, you'd be dealing with trash on a regular and crumpled bills and you'd be around cocaine quite often.
