Guys with LONG hair, wanting to go SHORT

Recently (after seeing a couple posts about it on the forum by some other guys) I've been thinking about going short. Long hair is a hassle, having to maintain it, waiting for it to dry out of the shower, messing with it during the day, not being able to see as well when it gets really long.

So I want to see what I'd look like with a short style. That's what half the kids in school have, and I've had my long hair since like 7th grade - I got long hair before my balls dropped, so I've never even seen my post-pubescent face with short hair. Only long.

I imagine if I could get shorter hair it'd make me look more masculine. My friends say hell no though, they think I'd look bad with it short, and one of them said it was because my face was too big for short hair to work (?) But I've learned not to listen to other people so much haha, so do you guys have suggestions?


Hopefully this can serve as a helpful thread for future posters with long hair who are thinkig about going short.

Try using coconut oil, it helps healthy growth of hair by providing them a shinny complexion or if you don't want the greasy version, coconut milk. But I haven't used the milk as much so... yeah...

no guy looks bad with short hair. you have a texture of hair where you could do a LOT of really attractive things with it if it was short. Almost anything. but you got some sick bro lettuce going now so thats up to you

I went from having long hair (a little longer than yours but thick and wavy) and recently buzzed it. It was about half and half for what people were saying about how it would look buzzed. It was a tough decision because my hair looks pretty good when it's long, but I just kinda decided it was time for a change and did it. Personally I think it looks good short and I plan on keeping it this way and I've gotten a ton of compliments, so I'd say go for it and if you don't like it then grow it back out.

And remember buzz and a v-neck, idk why but girls love it.

Yeah dude same. I haven't looked at this thread in a long time but for everyone who was curious, I got a short cut, kind of a fauxhawk but not very pronouced. Kind of Ronnie-style from Jersey Shore. Maybe even a little bit less. And tbh I fucking love it! Everyone else thinks it looks good too. A lot of people said they liked my hair long and why the hell did I cut it, but after a while my new cut along with some piercings made me look completely different and I've gotten A LOT of female attention that I wasn't getting before.

Oh and when I first got it, it was a pretty straight up fauxhawk, a lot more pronounced than it is now, and I got a lot of shit for it. Anyone who decides to go short should know that they're going to get a lot of "hahahahahah you're so gay" yadda yadda from people around school, especially if you get a more extreme-looking cut like my fauxhawk when I first had it.

Sometimes I even wonder if maybe I look better with long hair after all. But to be honest, at the end of the day I still know getting the short cut was the right decision if only for the wow/shock factor/attention you get from everyone, since they notice the radical change and stop to be like "who is this guy? he's newish and interesting!" even if it doesn't look as good as before, it made me become much more noticed which is really the end result you want anyway.

Dude, how did u make your old long hair stay like tht? I love it!! My hair is a similar length, but kinda goes down and doesnt seem to have too much volume 5 mins after i mess it a bit
