Why can't i fucking grow up? I feel like a fucking little boy. I'm 18. Going to college. I don't know how to be a man. I fucking thought I had confidence and could get girls. They look past me... I'm incompetent with everything. I don't know what to do anymore...

Dont subscribe to that bullshit. you're right that the term "growing up" is pretty much fucked up. i mean they want us to "be realistic" and be safe, raise a family, have a "secure" job and a white picket fucking fence house and shit, but fuck that, i'm just a child with some responsibilities. they tell us when we're young we can be whatever we want to, and quickly fuck us in the ass when we get older. fuck everyone and do what you wanna do. jester, quit bitchin about being a man and just be a man  jk but seriously, you don't become one overnight. it's a constant thing, even if you've been all enlightened and shit for 3-4 years. you take it one day at a time and hope for the best. while i'm all for being action oriented and have goals. "being a man" isn't really the main goal, it's a by product of how i choose to live my life, but it is not the means to an end. get whatever notion of manliness you have out of your head and just do what you wanna do, the rest will come with time and experience. cheers, patrick |

its true about our culture fucking up what growing up is suppose to mean. In older some societies being an "elder" was one of the greatest honors. Look at how we treat old people now.

Fuck growing up, stay young and love it. Im hanging on to everybit of childhood that i have. Do i still handle my responsibilities well, yes (kind of haha) but i do my best at it. Theres too much pressure to grow up all the time. Kids have the funnest times why push yourself away from that?
