Here I am reading a book by Deepak Chopra and I sit confused out of my mind.
What is life? How can a combination of carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen 'think'? What is time? How does gravity function? Why do we 'survive and prosper'? How does consciousness observe wave-particles into wave or particle? What is speed? Is space infinite or limited?
Ughhhh......

Well gravity is a magnetic force.... The rest of it is what you make of it. Because nothing else can be 100% proven, it's all the frame that you put it in

A chemical combination of C, O, and N 'think' because it has basic guidelines set forth by other chemical reactions. So your thinking is a whole bunch of chemical reactions going on in your head.
Time is a human construct, much like a utopia. It doesn't exist, much like counting sheep. The sheep are imaginary, but you can still measure them.
No one has been able to answer how gravity functions. No one can even answer why any of the Natural Laws work, we just know they do.
Survive and prosper is done to procreate, to pass on our genes. I can only assume it was a guideline instilled by the first 'living' organism when it realized it needed to continue it's chemical reactions on the largest scale possible.
I don't understand this one.
Speed is time/distance
Space is ever expanding, until the universe collapses, search 'big crunch' for more info.
Note: These are merely my ideas at 9:30 at night while I take a break from hw. Most are just educated guesses.

This thread wouldn't be complete without the question: What is love? (add a bit of echo for maximum effect)

I've always wondered this too. Like, is our brain a HD that can run out of space. IDK, I'll ask my old bio teacher next time I get a chance. Nine

Good questions, I think I might take a few more hours to think about em before I can come up with writable answers. Which book are you reading?

Ughhhh...... 1) Life is what you make of it. 2) It doesn't think. Electrical charges being passed between nerve endings "think". But thought beyond reflex is something else. 3) As already said. Time is a concept. 4) Because you cannot do one without the other. 5) Few people are actually "conscious". Consciousness is an adjective so it can't observe anything. 6) The absolute value of velocity. 7) Is limited as you reach infinity. There is an end to it somewhere but it constantly expands. Until the dark matter in the universe causes it to rapidly cave in on itself and explode again. One person I know took a philosophy course in college and the final was to explain to the teacher that his chair existed. Only one person passed it because he said, "There is no need to explain why it exists because it exists. The chair is there because you want it to be there." ...there is no spoon

I think that turning theory into your own religion is a good thing as long as one respects another's beliefs. Religion is a system of beliefs, so if someone finds self-satisfying ideas, they should stick to them. I, for instance, don't follow any particular religion but instead abide by my own personal life and spiritual philosophies.

Hate to use the computer analogy, but your brain is similar. Somewhere along the lines, the basic processes are all iterated so many times and blur into one experience.
