I'm a social guy. I'm an Alpha but mainly a bridge because of all the people I know. If I'm not going to parties at different social circles than it's parties at different schools. I will give my advice on how to be a bridge and also how to throw a great party.
General advice: Go to other people's parties, its less destructive.
Attending a party:
Once you are invited to a party for the first time make sure you have your buddies. But what I did at the first party where I didn't know anyone but the people I was with, I went around and just introduced myself to guys and hung out with them for a bit. Being cool with the guys makes it so much easier to get with their girls and establish all of them as social contacts.
Smoking is an excellent gateway to friendships. You can find this out yourselves. (I do not suggest that you try illegal products but it is your prerogative to do what you want). You may also find out that some people are sticklers about sharing but occasionally there are cool people who will invite you in.
Drinking is also another great way to socialize. Often times drinking games will be going on to which you should join (once again should you want to). Flip Cup, Beer Pong, Circle of Death, and Speed Cup are very fun and good party games. Beer Pong is great fun but there are long lines for it sometimes and many houses may not have a ping pong table/extra door. So I invested in a Portable Beer Pong Table. It floats! It's instant fun for you and your pals and absolutely awesome for a Hot Tub.
You will get many contacts for having a fake I.D. (risky but beneficial. I don't have one and am content with that fact)
If you like to stay sober instead of doing seemingly pointless drugs then you can learn that parties while sober can be less fun but that's only due to most people's ideology. You may not bond over drinking games but you can talk to people and sit in on games. I recommend going to parties even if you stay sober. You will be tempted by others but you should have some great fun making fun of drunk people.
Throwing a Party:
Great! You're parents have finally left town. Or maybe you have really awesome parents who are fine with their kids having parties. But there are some things that you should think about before throwing a party...
-Know how many people your house can hold.
-Its imperative to invite the right people. If the wrong people come they will stir up trouble and ruin everyone's night.
-Don't turn a Keg down.
-Don't be afraid about the turnout of a party with booze. People will come and you must not be afraid to have a limit on partiers.
-Do not let people near expensive things in your house.
-It is a good idea to have a ping-pong table.
-Have plastic cups available or get someone else to bring them.
-Do not let people near your food.
-Be conscious of sleeping arrangements.
-Don't be afraid to kick people out or not invite people.
-Have a deck of cards around.
-If the party goes out for some pancakes at 3 in the morning, have someone sober there (preferably you).
-Make sure you have friends who will stick around to clean up the morning after.
-You should have fun at your parties! But I don't recommend drinking.
-As long as you are relaxed and confident about the situation the party will handle itself and you will hear about how crazy your party was for ages.
I have thrown many many epic parties at my house. But I won't throw one there ever again. This is because the cops busted my party. Had I not been sober I would have been arrested until one of my guardians picked me up (my dad was in Hawaii and mother in Peru).
Here is more advice on how not to get caught:
-Don't have cars park in front of your house. Neighbors may be watching.
-Keep curtains closed and noise down.
-Don't let anyone leave your house if cops come. Keep doors closed, they can't come in unless a door is left ajar.
-If you live in a gated community, have attendees park at a public parking lot. You can caravan them in. Or they can use someone else's name (the cops will get suspicious if too many cars are parked in a private lot and wait for someone to go back to their car and your party might get busted).
-Be sober so that you are aware.
Have fun!
