Well man, high school life is almost over and prom is coming up. I know that i can get a date, that is not the problem. The problem is my family. My family is a bit conservative; they are totally cool with everything i do except going out on dates. This is what my mom said, " Sunny, you can go to prom if you want. I will get you dress and everything else you need, but I personally don't want you to go." My father said something similar. My parents left their country, their own parents, their business and a lot more for me; I don't want to displease them.
What would you do if you were in my position?

Think for yourself. Don't let them rule your life. Do you want it? Do you? It's OK if you don't want to, and it's OK if you want to. Consider the pros and cons. C'mon, you're older than me, you should be able to decide for yourself.

I think they are just worried you might come home drunk with a cum stain on your pants. Show them they can trust you! =]

My best friend (and wing) was in the same exact boat as you. He's the first generation born in America, his parents moved to the states from India.
He just stopped asking his parents if he could go out and started telling them he was going out.
Eventually built up enough trust so now his parents let him have people over. He gave me an award for first white person in his house when his parents were home. ;D
It also helped when he got his license, they gave him a lot more freedom after that. In the end, it's all about trust.

And remember, being honest won't create trust. Liars can create trust.
So.. it's all about making them think in their head "He won't do anything." So if you do happen to do anything bad, don't let them know unless it's something like you've killed somebody.

Yeah, because if you lie about killing someone, that can take you down a slippery slope.
