In David Deangelos Ebook, he says to take up space when u sit down. Lean back and sit relaxed style. Dont cross your legs or arms.
But ive heard u guys talking about sitting up straight with ur back against the chair and everything. Chin up chest out. It seems like that posture may give off an uptight/nerdy vibe.

I would say be more relaxed, you don't want to look as stiff as a bored. Regardless of what you choose though, it should be natural, sit however you feel most comfortable because you'll be much more able to vibe easier if you aren't worrying about whether or not your back is up against a chair.

as long as you're calm and relaxed, anything is fine as long as it doesnt say "i hate life"

I think spreading out but tilting your head up works well.

Practice good posture all the time. That way when you sit down you can look relaxed but still composed.
Most of the time you see people trying to have good posture it looks fake. But if you walk and sit really well at home then you'll do it naturally and not look weird.

^^ What optimus said.
I used to slouch a lot. It makes you look so unattractive. Go up to a mirror and slouch, then stand up straight, chest out and chin up. Notice the difference yourself.
And no, good posture is the characteristic of someone with confidence, which nerds don't have, so they slouch.

Slouching - Shoulders forward, head down
Relaxed - Shoulders down, head back

Good thread.
Another rule of thumb to go by is to look asymmetrical. You can sit with back straight, chest out, good posture, but if you have your feet together and hands on your thighs, you'll look uncomfortable. You want to look cool, and what that really means is looking comfortable, so I'll repeat the rule of thumb:
DON'T LOOK SYMMETRICAL
