I haven't posted in a while, perhaps because I've been so fucking busy. So I'm writing this before going to bed, hope you like it. I do.
How to become happy and successful in life? You have to make a habit of success.
Really, even if you don't realize it, our life is full of habits. The way you go to school. The motions you do while brushing your teeth. What you do in the morning. What you do when you come home. What do you think about yourself, people, friends, game, everything. At one moment, you had to make conscious decision how to behave and you did it - and have been following it ever since.
The problem is, some of those decisions were wrong. Smoking for example; at one moment you decided to "give in" to friends who were forcing you (or society) and you've been "giving in" ever since (my congrats to those who weren't). Or talking to certain people; you formed an opinion about them in your mind and you've been using it to control your behavior ever since. The list goes on and on.
So how do you break it? Here is how, and it's neither easy nor fast;
THE BAD EMOTION WILL BE THERE. Really. You will be thinking that you shouldn't be doing that and you may still be doing it. So you need to STOP! and do what you THINK at the MOMENT is right. Not what you've been doing for long time, but what you WANT to do.
Not making a lot of sense? OK, here's an example:
When you go to a refrigerator to grab something to eat. You know you shouldn't and you think about it while you're opening the doors. However, then you have to STOP! and do what you initially wanted; close the doors and go away from the kitchen. Replace the behavior with an other one. The next time you think about going to the fridge and taking something to eat, you tell yourself "This is not the way I'm behaving anymore" and then think about the reasons that made you change that behavior.
Now, what is great about this; You can change literally EVERY behavior in your life. Decide what you want to change. Decide what you want to replace it with (thoughts to replace make a major part here). Decide why you want to replace the behavior. Really feel it (visualization may do its part here if you want to). And the next time you even think about doing the bad behavior, or realize that you're doing it, STOP!, think about WHAT you REALLY want to do instead and why.
Guess what? Approaching girls belongs in here too. Biting fingernails too. Learning, doing sports, weight control, kino, escalation, rapport, frames - it all belongs in here.
And give it time. The Rome has not been built overnight, neither will your behaviors be changed automatically. There is no magical "affirmations" or hypnotherapy about this. This you must do manually.
Remember; YOU CONTROL YOUR LIFE.
