My first track meet of the season is tomorrow, and it will also be my first meet ever pole vaulting! I felt like I did awful today at practice though, if there's any other pole vaulters on here, I'd appreciate any tips! ...my main sticking point seems to be kicking my left leg up after planting and driving through with my right knee

Make sure to keep both arms extended, not bent and curled. and make sure to kick both feet up before trying to turn. oh and atleast plant the pole in the box!

a little late for the meet haha, but I jumped 8 feet which isn't horrible considering it was my first meet ever. I need to work on my form a lot though.

8 feet is fine for the first meet, at least making openin height. one thing i did to help with learning form was to watch a lot of pole vault videos on youtube. or just watching really good people do it.

yeah I've been watching videos online, it's so hard to better your form though! Especially because we don't really have a pole vault coach...
