What do you guys think about driving a motorcycle to school - like a harley. If you live in a small town?

If another dude has one, then you'll come off as a biter. But if no one else has one, you'll be the coolest fucking guy and girls will be begging you for a ride.

I have a 2009 ninja and its a pretty big deal. the ladies love it.
I must say though, that girls like street bikes better than cruisers

never seen a girl go more for a cruiser over a street bike.
street bikes are 'young' and fast and powerful, by perception
cruisers are 'old' and slow and loud, by perception
which one would girls really prefer?

its the dude behind the bike. Harleys are perceived as badboys, while street bikes are racers. Then again, it also depends on who you are. If your a racer, or a bad ass.

They're kinda hand in hand.
Street bikes are More "on the edge"
Besides, you can't afford a decent Harley. Maybe a like-styled cruiser

I'm the same way, i don't give a fuck that other bieks can go faster than mine. But its still in the perception...plus street bikes have faster accel. I've never heard of a street bike rider wishing he has a cruiser. I know of a few cruiser riders that wish they were young enough to get a street bike.

Just get one of those really big ones, with a side bike, and big shit on the back that you see old people driving across the state.
Those are cool.

Man I am seriously thinking about getting a bike. Like a Ninja 250 or something. It's much more cost effective for me, it's badass, it seems really fun. The only downsides I can see are the dangerous thing, which also means I prob wouldn't drive it high/even mildly altered (I can do this in a car pretty easily) and having to use a parent's car when I need one/it's bad weather/I don't feel like riding a bike. For those who have one, is it your main way of transportation? I can't afford a bike and a car, can't even afford either really atm but would get help from parents for a car.

For those who have one, is it your main way of transportation? I can't afford a bike and a car, can't even afford either really atm but would get help from parents for a car. I'd recommend, looking on craigslist for a 20xx 650r Ninja. The 250s you'll grow out of too fast, and ninjas ar ethe best beginner bike. specifically the 2009 models, the 650r Ninja was graded as the single best bike for the inexperienced, and was ranked 12 out of 56 for best street bike of the year. I haven't riden in hardcore rain, but i have in a little, and its not much different, just take turns slower and give yourself more room to brake (since your tire will lock a lot easier). But the danger factors are pretty overblown. As long as you ride safe, you'll be fine. Cars (around here at least) give me space to get things done.
