Texting has gotten a pretty bad rep recently. There are a lot of purists out there who believe that gaming should be done in person or over the phone. While it's true that it is much easier to build attraction and comfort when a girl can hear your voice (not to mention see your face or touch you!), with the amount of girls glued to their cell phones these days, there's no reason to avoid the medium (unless, of course, you don't have texting or are a BRUTALLY slow typer)!
Girls Text. A lot. Most girls that I know these days (especially the stereotypical HBs) are constantly on their cell phones. And they are texting. Tapping that medium is just a simple evolution of Game. To avoid or block out that entire form of communication cuts down an entire way to communicate. The more ways you do anything, the better off you'll be.
Come on guys, spell things out, and spell things right (that goes for forum posts too as best as you can xD). Nobody wants to read ur txts wen u post dem lyk dis LOLOLOLOL. Get into the habit of spelling words out and using punctuation and stuff like that. It totally ruins your Voice when you don't, which is probably the most important thing to know how to use while texting.
When you text, you want her to be able to read it like your speaking it. I don't really know how to explain it, but I have had teachers tell me that when they read my emails they can HEAR me saying it to them. One of my best friends texts a lot, but its really abrupt and choppy. He means well, but it ends up being really off-putting, especially with girls.
Some tools to use emphasize your voice are:
1. Don't be afraid to use caps if you want something emphasized. Too often texts can be very ambiguous, so its VERY important to highlight what IS important in your text. It reads better and easier that way. Also, punctuation fits into here. Make sure you know what you are saying to her, and she can understand it too.
2. Speech-Sounds! Use haha's, pfff's, psh's, etc. often. It's just another way to help her better decipher your meaning, intentions, and just what you're saying. In addition, make use of smileys. They are your friend!
3. Basically, type it out how you would say it. Read it back to yourself before you send it if you need to.
There are a lot of simple benefits to texting, too. A text is non-obligatory at the time that you send it, while a phone call is either answered and taken at the time, no matter what is going on, or ignored or she or you has to call back. With a text, you can send it and she can send one back whenever she can.
What I find is the most important benefit to texting is the real-life improvisational practice thats inherent in text game. When you text, is essentially stripped down flirting (a MONSTER post on flirting coming up, its gonna be gold) with just the words. When you flirt, your essentially sending lines back and forth with each other, except there is no way to use anything canned since its all spontaneous.
What this lends itself to is some SERIOUS improvised line practice. There are very few things a girl can say to me that I can't have something thought up on the moment to respond with. Some of that is simple charm, and some is the practice I've gotten with texting.
A friend of mine has been texting this girl, and gets stuck on things she says, you know, when she says something and your like "what the fuck do I say to that?" Everytime he has one, I spout one out. Its super good practice
It is absolutely not impossible to create sexual tension (big post on that coming up too) via texts. It's just a matter of building your voice and escalating through your words. I hooked up with this girl in New York in July this summer, got her number, and for about five weeks our only form of communication was text. That was it. What it came down too, was that I built up enough sexual tension with her that she convinced her mom to let her come sleep in my house for a day or two.
Hey, Communication is only 7% WHAT you say, so make the 7% count! If you can build up your strength with words and what you say, you MUCH less likely to make mistakes in the real world, and for that matter KNOW what to say. Its all important.
This stuff is legit, just know how to make it work for you.
