We will put every single known EFFECTIVE diet on this thread.
Atkins' Diet
The Atkins Diet is a diet in which one consumes less carbohydrates in order to burn fat.
Our bodies use carbohydrates and fat for our energy but use carbohydrates first. If we consume less carbohydrates, then we go into a state of ketosis where we use fat as our primary energy source.
It also doesn't give extreme hunger due to the high consumption of proteins and fat.
Some foods it restricts against are: Milk, White Rice, White Flour, Sugar
However, Red Meat, Cheese, Eggs, and Fish are all very acceptable choices.
The Pros of the diet are:
- You burn fat for energy (Ketosis)
- You can consume foods with protein and fat.
- You will lose and gain weight in the right areas of your body.
The Cons of the diet are:
- You lose your appetite
- You can't eat or drink milk, rice, sugar, and flour.
- Physical exercise is sometimes required.
- You can not consume fruit and vegetable products.

About the Atkins diet...
Raw Food Diet
You eat: fruits and vegetables. Spinach smoothies (actually really fucking delicious) are a staple for me, I have them almost every day. I don't eat anything processed or cooked.
Apparently "living food" (fruits and veggies) have enzymes in them, which are totally badass and that badassery transfers over to you. Your immune system becomes stronger, you have more energy, you can go hypercaloric (eat more than you burn) and lose weight, and eat as much as you want. In a week my body started treating vegetables and fruits like candy.
This is more of a lifestyle choice than a diet, in my opinion. It isn't the end all of diets, and it's not for most people. I'm dropping it momentarily so I can get protein easier since I started working out again. I haven't done much research into raw food and physical exercise, but I heard some good things. I got into Raw Food through reading Herbal's blog and then decided to try it. It took me a week or two to get used to it, but I was already off hamburgers and soda and candy for two years before that so my transition was easier.
If you live in New York, there's an awesome restaurant called Pure Food and Wine. I don't know if it's expensive or not, but I heard good things, and their cookbook rocks.
A branch off Andrew's post:
This is what I did before I became a raw foodist.
I stopped eating fast food. That shit's bad, and you know it.
I then cut out soda. I moved on towards drinking water a lot and fruit juice and smoothies. I'm became a creative little shit when it comes to using a blender.
I hadn't eaten candy for a year.
The whole thing is based on instant gratification vs. long term happiness. I was happier being healthier so I went with that. I still haven't had a drop of soda or a bite of fast food.
