I've decided to grow my hair. My problem is I have THICK hair. THICK. Let that sink in... It grows out instead of down. I'm aiming at something like Jacoby Shaddix's hair (look up Papa Roach- their vocalist). I've been trying to imitate the hair at least somewhat but it doesn't look anything like his. I know it isn't cut to look anything like his (and isn't as long) but I can't even get it to slightly resemble his hair. Is it possible to get the hairstyle with hair that grows out? I can't post photos right now

Im not sure, but I know that hair looks different when you grow it out. Like if you have a little bit of curly hair, if you grow it out long, it could turn more into wavy/straight hair. But Im not sure about thick hair lol. You could always blow dry and straighten it tho.
Edit: Im trying to grow my hair out possibly to john allen length (singer from charm city devils) And who knows what the color might be lol.
I wanna get it longer and experiment a bit

i have thick hair. but i still pull shit off.
stick to the 'shorter' scene style. it's easier to control. i'm talking 3-4 inches short, nothing too short.
youtube Asian Men Hairstyle, and you're good.

I have thick hair. It grows down though. Like it's bushy when in a ponytail though.
EDIT: I missed the point.
Just grow it out then decide a hairstyle.

Wow I thought I spent dump loads of time fixing up in front of the mirror... those asian kids are insane. I'm not sure I want the style after seeing them (Its kind of ehh... ugly) but I think I can pull it off.

Actually, I have a triangular face shape =]. Most of my facebook photos are old and inaccurate in the way I look for some reason.
And scene hair was a bust, cut my hair to a really cool-very short semi-fo hawk look. I just don't look as good with long hair. At best, I'm now a 9, with longer hair I look greasy and unclean, and I'm down to a 7. makes a huge difference. (and yeah I wash my hair everyday, but I use enough enough conditioner to not make it dry)
*sigh* no headbanging for me

scene hair is easy, pick a style, thin your hair out, straighten, find your gell and straighten it again. BTW never cut it at home! if you don't like it find a hand razor to cut it it looks sick! watch alot of videos but remember Pros: sexy hair lots of fun cons: damaged hair possible baldness is known to happen so if you're going to do something, I recommend research! I used to have scene hair, like 10 inch bangs and it was great but you get called a fag alot and it was SOOOOOOOO damaged after years of straightening and now it's SUPER SHORT!! life's a balancing act the good and the bad

lol the reason your hair was damaged was because you didnt put any heat protection on when you straightend it. No need to straighten twice either.
Cool thing is, i just got keratin (look at the post i made) and guess what? My hair is perfectly, flat iron straight. And i can get out of the shower, and itll look the same. No maintance...amazing

Scene hair is as big, bold and fun as you are. And talk about versatile, it wouldn't be scene hair if it looked like everyone else's! Dark hair, light hair, pink hair, blue hair, short hair, long hair, it can all be scene hair.
