I've decided to type out a list of all the methods pick up artists use in pick-up.
This will not only help the other members experiment with which style they fit in to most easily, but it will help myself learn what I'll fit into best and which one I'll succeed in strongest.

Mystery Method
The Mystery Method is best known for its M3 Model consisting of three stages, and three phases within those stages.
Attraction:
A1 - Hooking the set
A2 - Target to PUA Interest
A3 - PUA to Target Interest
Comfort:
C1 - Conversation
C2 - Connection
C3 - Intimacy
Seduction:
S1 - Foreplay
S2 - Last-Minute Resistance (LMR)
S3 - Sex
This is the basic outline for most PUAs today and applied usually for "indirect" gaming.
NLP
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is probably the most sophisticated method of pick-up in my own opinions and views. It involves using basic human psychology and using it to attract and seduce women. NLP goes beyond normal pick-up as it is used by many hypnotic practitioners as well as many psychologists. NLP involves using the human sensory responses of sight, smell, taste, noise, and touch. Breaking down the human actions and reactions of these senses, NLP practitioners have mastered using this knowledge to their own specific use.
Attraction Switches
Being an alpha male may be THE most important part of becoming a successful pick-up artist. It is believed that the alpha male is the head of an entire group composed of females and males. An alpha male has the characteristics of being:
- Leader
- Loud Voice / Solid Tonality
- Relaxed and Comfortable
- Protector of Loved Ones
- Confident
- Willingness to Take Risks
- ..and much more
Every "attraction switch" is an attribute of the basic characteristics of an alpha. These are switches built into our instincts to follow and respect the alpha male and his decisions. If a PUA had no traits of an alpha, he would surely fail miserably.
Push-Pull
Push Pull, in my opinion, was mastered by Swinggcat. Using the human instinct of selfishness and the belief that one will reach for something one does not have, this theory works great. A PUA would intentionally "pull" a girl to him and enlighten her with compliments and attention, and he would "push" her away by ignoring her and showing intentional disinterest. This shows her the PUA is the thing that gives her good feelings, however he is rare and hard to win over. A very great tool in the community of pick up.
Natural Game
Naturals are the guys we've met back since middle school. We've been very jealous of them and thus here we are breaking down the actions and personalities of the naturals, stealing and copying their identities, characteristics, etc. A natural does not need to worry about pick up, he's already so successful at it he can focus on other things in life. Everything comes to him spontaneously and naturally. Most advance PUAs try to become a natural after improving themselves through the use of books and trials/errors. Zan is considered the Natural. Check out his stuff for more information on Natural Game. Also, The Juggler Method is a great book on transitioning from using canned lines to becoming a spontaneous pick up artist.
Indirect
Indirect game is the preferred style of approach for most PUAs. This method is usually applied in the night time or during any social event. This is when the target(s) are approached the most often, thus the bitch shield for 'nice guys' is active. Indirect gaming is to pick up a target without letting her know you are interested in her, until later when qualification begins. The M3 Model is strongly connected with indirect gaming so look into The Venusian Arts Handbook by Mystery for more information.
Direct
After a certain point, PUAs will want to take their game to the next level. They will get a dull taste for indirect gaming and will want to try different methods, one being Direct Pick-Up. This is when a PUA shows interest in his target on approach. He still has his rules and standards though, he just tells the girl he's interested. The PUA would set the frame that although he is interested, he's still testing her and qualifying her to see if she will meet up to his standards and expectations. I myself have not gotten to this level of pick-up so I am not available to recommend any sources of direct pick-up.
Cocky & Funny
David DeAngelo. Need I say more? He mastered this technique. C&F is a method involving bringing out the best in one's mind and body. A PUA will show his cocky and funny self to show a target he is the source of her fun. C&F makes an excellent combination with Push-Pull Theory. In my opinion, Will Smith plays an excellent C&F character in his TV series "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". If you have not seen this show, you need to stay in more. Watch it and learn. Look into David DeAngelo; as if he's not already everywhere on Youtube.
Energy & Yoga - David Deida
Do you know what sexual polarity is? David Deida is a relationship workshop leader and he talks about the ways of becoming a superior man in life, how to maintain a relationship, how to keep things sexual, all through the use of yoga and spiritual methods. His book The Way of the Superior Man: A Spiritual Guide to Mastering the Challenges of Women Work and Sexual Desire is a great resource to improve your inner game and your comfort/connection with the world around you.
NOTE: Deep meditation will be required. :wink:
