Asked one of my friends (girl) recently how she felt about facial hair on guys, and how she felt most girls felt about it.

"While there are definitely girls out there who like guys with facial hair, if you are in doubt it's always better to go clean-shaven. There are waaaay more girls out there who dislike facial hair than those who like it. If you shave you'll be more likely to attract more and different girls."

This was just something I felt interesting because there straight up isn't that much information out there for guys about fashion and facial hair.

It all goes back to the doors that you want to keep open and those you want to close. Growing yourself a full beard is going to attract full-beard lovers, but all those girls who dislike beards are going to stayyyy away from ya.

I also think that what kind of facial hair looks good on you depends on your face shape and jaw line. Those with a stronger jawline and cheekbones will be able to get away with much more than those with a round or baby face. And as a rule, if you grow in patchy, you should probably avoid it entirely for now.

And seriously, if you are wondering about your particular case, ALWAYS ask a girl-friend (as with any fashion advice) who has a good sense of style, sense of self, and is the kind of girl you would like to attract.
