Im addicted to dr pepper.
8-12 a day. My teeth are being affected. My 6 pack is long gone. My weight is the same, just with a beer belly. Without Dr pepper, Im melow, normal, chill. With dr pepper, im hyper, controlled, safe, its my form of pot. When I have issues, school, family, girlfriends, i drink a dr pepper, sometimes like smokers smoke cigs.
Seriously, its killing my mentallity, becuase without it, my legs wont work (I tried stopping for a few days, and my legs were EXTREMELY weak) my brain doesnt work, on thursday I didnt get one in the morning and I was writing an essay and this is how it came out "As she walked to,she bought some candy and, until the way home she hit a car."
I tried to say " She was walking to the store to buy som candy and milk, but on the way their, a car, came around the corner... blah blah"
Anyways, help me stop, Its hard, its scary. Without it, I feel despressed, like my life sucks. With it, I can get in state, I can relax.
I drink it every night before bed, when I get up, buy a large Dr pepper everyday for school, lasts me til 3rd period. In 6th period I start getting headaches and urges, I get home, and instantly get myself a soda. I can go through 1 and half 2 liters a day, plus a large cup in the morning.
Help?
Gay.
P.S- Thanks Pae for....reminding me how bad an addiction can be.

I guess I probably had an "addiction" to video games...i used to play World of Warcraft with my friends like allll the time-from when i got home from school, dinner/shower break, WoW until i went to sleep. I stopped playing about a month ago because I just thought like I was wasting my time. It got to the point where I wasn't even having fun because I was "working" to get new stuff and all that. Anyways, I quit about a month ago and I feel great. I started getting into breakdance and other dance stuff in general it's so cool. Also I'm out all night on the weekends which is way different than what it used to be like.
But anyways.... I've never had an addiction like yours but my advice would be to very gradually cut down on your consumption. You currently drink 8-12 cans a day. Get a calendar and maybe go down a can per 2 weeks to a month.
i.e.- finish October with 7-11 a day, November go down to 6-10 a day, December 5-9 daily, etc. etc.
If you change gradually you will slowly ween yourself off of it, and you won't experience any of the symptoms you show when you don't drink any.

It's the caffeine. If you like how the caffeine feels but don't want it ruining your teeth you can take caffeine pills, they have about 200mg of caffeine a piece. If you want to get off of it completely I suggest waning it down as zomga said but you could also try slowly using less and less coffee. I myself cut off coffee cold turkey during football season, yeah, that was real fun...

P.S. On a side note, caffeine jello-shots are great in the morning ;D
