What should I wear to fit my style?

First off I'm not a skater or a gangster or a punk. My hair is curly and I won't spend time with a straightener so no scene for me. I'm just looking for comfortable, affordable, no peacocking, and not to make me seem like a faker. Note that I go to a private school so none of this matters for in school except for casual days.


Currently I wear (admittedly not the best, that's why I'm coming here)
-My t-shirt inventory is limited either a sports shirt, I have a witty Chuck Norris one, or these shirts I got from volunteering.
-Jeans are not tight they are not falling off my ass though.
-Belt is a standard Docker's one
-Shoes to me are my weakest point: white Reebok basketball shoes. Not stylish in the least.
-I am quite comfortable with my jacket choice, I have a gray AND1 zip up hoodie with this black fur type lining.

Pictures of me in this aren't readily available, but I can take some, just message me to ask for them, I don't want to put them publically on this forum. Just note that I look worse in set up photos and I recently got a hair cut and in my opinion it takes a week or two for my hair to look good again. I do have pictures of me in my school clothes which involves a sweater and such which I am wearing while on the bus that has girls. Once again message me. I also have older pictures of me, three in a suit at my 8th grade graduation, and one in a white button down shirt. The contrast between them is the graduation one I have cut hair, the white button down shirt I have quite some curls. I also have MSN so if it makes it easier to exchange pics we can use that.

Sorry volt, but I disagree completely.

Wear what fits your personality and what you want to wear. Don't ever wear something just because it's "what all the cool kids are doing". As long as it isn't something like this www.zazzle.com/geek_wear_tshirt-235797064748897388 you'll be fine.

Really though, don't ever wear a shirt like that.

Well for one, go to a GOOD hair salon. When you get a haircut, its supposed to look good. Do not go to cheap cuts, super cuts, what ever. Go to a high end salon, which isn't a chain.

Alek, only go to one of those types if you have longer hair. Shorter hair is fine with a barber (never go to a chain anyway).
The best idea is to develop your OWN style. Head to the mall. Check out stores. Read GQ. Etc.

Shorter hair should still go to a salon, the shorter your hair the more versatile it can be. Way more opportunities for layering, texturizing, ect. Barbers are good for really short hair cuts, like what a lot of black guys have.

But yeah man, you need to develop your own style. And ironically, a great way to do that is to model off of someone who's style you admire, whether it be a celeb, musician, or news anchor - ha ha - point is to model off of someone. This will help you build your own style, because it will develop your eye, and youll become more creative in that department - please believe.
