I wear a metal ankh, that usually gets comments which gets conversations going. I have a cross which I sometimes wear (It's blue/jade, its the shit). My opinion would be to go with something interesting, cool, or peacockish. What that is you should decide for yourself. If you don't feel comfy peacocking, then you should just go with something that says, "I've got a story behind this necklace". Nothing too flashy though.

If you're Christian in any flavor, I would rock the cross because they look sick. As a Jew, I don't rock it. I think if you have a passion, guitar for example, you should rock a little guitar or a pick or something, because you can talk about it and it gives girls something to say (sooo you play guitar?)

oooh owl, you gave me an awesome idea with the ankh! I'm getting a tat with the symbol in it, too.
if you want something flashy, try dog tags. they're shiny, usually made of silver (platinum if you got too much cash), and it has awesomeness written all over it.

I rock out with either a pick/cross/shark tooth necklace.
I would go to a cheap flea market or any place with sweatshop accessories and just pick the one you like most.

There's something about the whole, not wearing any acessories look that appeals to me. I never wore necklaces, bracelets, etc, so it's weird for me. But if I'm gonna wear a necklace, it's gonna be a cross.

I dont overdo it with 'necklaces' but I have an issue with crosses, not becuase I'm an atheist and I feel that the fashion is not really worth hypocrisy, but if Jesus is indeed the god child if he were to comeback how happy would be if he saw his method of dispatch on all these kids? it would be like if french royalty came back and everyone had fucking guillotines on their necks. And honestly it wouldn't make much of a difference, whenever I wear necklaces I don't overtly show them, usually their visible only if you look at the top of my shirt and when kino begins to factor in girls like to play with it, pun intended, it instill interest later. But my fashion is that I'm unafraid to try new things but simplicity is master. oh and i nvr wear religious icons unless its in jest.

Yeah prodigy, it's a great idea to have a neat looking necklace behind your shirt, so when she comes closer you put her hand on your neck and she'll aaaaaaaalways pull it out (pun intended here too).
I've never really been too crazy with accessories either, but I absolutely love bead bracelets (the ones in a few different colors) and earrings or the like.
