I have read in another pua forum that sometimes dressing plain is more effective than dressing with brands on your shirts, pants, etc.. Do you think this is true? It supposedly shows that you don't give a shit about being cool and that you arn't trying too hard to fit in. Thoughts and Opinions?

lol, clothes that are made specifically showing their brand...in all honesty suck. Its not fashionable, or cool to have a big "THIS IS MY LABEL" written on your shirt, or anything. If you look at all high end couture, you will never see this.

branded shirts<plain shirts<graphic and/or button-up shirts (That fit your style and personality)
You want to stick out to get noticed. If you wear plain clothes everyone else wears then you aren't going to get noticed. Go to Kohls, Gordmans, Buckle, or whatever store is in your area and get some nice graphic shirts. These shirts won't most likely have brand names on the outside. That's what you want.
Since nobody really wears graphic shirts other than video game and punk/death metal band tees, you'll get picked out of the crowd very easily, since you're not really trying to fit in or be cool. If you pick something that matches your personality, you're golden for fashion.
----
branded pants<plain pants< faded straight pants (the fade should match your shirt)
Pretty much the same here. Kohls has excellent straight jeans with awesome fades on them, but if you want to get a little better quality, Buckle is your way to go. Just be sure that the fade matches your shirt. ----
What clothes you wear should generally depict your personality. It's kind of like your body is your canvas, and what you wear is the paint. If you wear plain clothes, your first impression to a lot of girls will partly be shown by what you wear. If you wear plain clothes, they'll think you're a plain guy. If you wear branded shirts like everyone else, they think you're trying to fit in. But if you wear graphics and/or button-up shirts that colors and designs match your style and personality, you'll easily stick out in a crowd (and that's what you want).

That's a total load of rubbish. Plain is in right now and plain doesn't necessarily mean boring. All you're doing when buying graphic tees is spending excessive amounts of money to most likely look silly. Graphic tees, or any clothing with majorly complex prints on them look try hard and childish. Want to stand out? Learn the art of layering clothes. I'll break it down for you. During day time, you want to be wearing a real nice pair of jeans (raw denim like nudie jeans are hands down the best route, don't get jeans with silly patterns on them, the whole distressed look is cool though, raw denim develops that look after a while of wearing), a cool pair of kicks (if you're a teen then it should be trainers, some chuck tailors or similar will do, and match them with your belt), a plain tee (white/grey/black) or plain polo layered with a plain hoody (any colour) and if it's cold this can be layered a second time with a leather jacket over the top of it. Most importantly, make sure they all fit snuggly. For going out to parties or whatever, what I've found works really well is a pair of black shoes, some really nice dress pants and a polo shirt. You can go mad with the colours a little as long as they match well. For accessories, just a nice stylish watch will do (and shades if it's sunny outside). Don't listen to pua's who tell you to go out and buy loads of chains, rings and bracelets, it looks tacky and feminine. The best piece of advice I could probably give to you is don't take advice from pua's about fashion. Most of them don't have a clue and have only looked into it to a small degree, as most of their self improvement journey is spent talking to girls. Research fashion (and most importantly style) independently yourself and find out what looks good and stick with it.

Research fashion (and most importantly style) independently yourself and find out what looks good and stick with it. Styles can differ from high school to college. In high school, simple doesn't always win and layering can be looked at as trying hard. Where I live, most of the people are middle to LOW class, so layering plain clothes can be seen as "preppy rich boy" and, most likely, gay. The only time I layer clothes is when I go to parties or special events. Plus, the graphic tees I get rarely go over $40, and those are the ones I get from Buckle. But the area in which you live in and, more importantly, your personal style can be different.
