Wow. Personally, this just seems really immoral . If anyone's insecure enough to take that service then they have some serious issues to fix with their partner.
But speaking in terms of the actual focus of the post, I completely agree with you on spontaneity.
and for the looks, it may be from the issue with comfort vs attraction. Being more flawed and vulnerable than the guy with the perfect hair and perfect image lets you break down anxiety barriers so much easier.
But of course if it's coming to the point your style and personality are ugly or simply not attractive, then one should achieve to better those things.
