At my school, and I am willing to bet in most schools, people who smoke and do drugs get laid more than average. Maybe not the most, but they sure do get more than their fair share. For the longest time I tried to figure this out, and the reason is very simple and obvious: they don't care how things go because they can always go home and smoke.
No, it is not because they are perceived as cool. They carry a confident persona about them because they know a way to have fun and do not need your help in doing it. Quit bullshitting yourself into thinking that to get their results you have to take up drugs and alcohol. Rockers and football players are just the same because they get highs from doing what they do best.
Pot-heads are interesting to study because society does not portray them as cool like it does for rockers and athletes. Yet, they get very similar results. All of these groups have amazing inner confidence.
So the lesson that I took forever learning and you need to learn is that there is a reason that you don't give a shit when you are picking up chicks. The simple answer is that they are just a fun side project. Honestly think to yourself what would you do if there were no chicks on the world. If you could still have fun and mess around, then you are going to master pick-up.
When I started, people told me: "DON'T GIVE A FUCK". That doesn't make any sense because I was in the community because I did give a fuck and wanted to get girls. To tell you the truth there is no way that mindset is gonna pan out for you.
Evolutionary wise, guys who only spend their time trying to get girls are failures because they are not going to add anything that will help their offspring. Girls sense this when you are needy or unsure of yourself. Therefore, you get success when you have something to fall back on.
I reached this understanding when I took a break from pick-up and literally separated myself from nearly all of my girl friends for three weeks. It was kind of tough, but then again, I didn't die and I actually spent a ton of time making money and learning another instrument.
I came back into the game and *bam*, girls were a breeze because I knew that I had tons of fun without them and that I was basically giving them an opportunity to enjoy my experiences and reality.
