Need help with a "weird" situation.

All right guys, so I'm a little new to the whole PUA scene, etc.

I've been wanting to talk to this one girl, but I kinda chickened out a few times, so I asked her an opener online:

"I think you're pretty, but what do you have going for you besides your looks?"

It didn't really go well, and she replied saying that the question was offensive/rude, and that she liked the compliment, but the way I asked was strange.

So here's my question:

What should I do now? I'm basically at a loss of what to do, but I'm thinking I should talk to her in person (but what should I say?).

and honestly, i wouldn't have used that as an opener... it's much more of a line that makes her qualify to you, so you needed to have built rapport with some C&F first.
but not to worry, at least she knows who you are now

You need to go talk to her at school. That is a necessity, if you don't, you're just that guy who can only string sentences together online lol.

What should you say? I don't know, there's no magic line, just get to know her, make her comfortable around you, use kino (touch her arms/shoulder when you talk), you could probably get it to the hug hello and goodbye in one meeting if you're confident and relaxed
