You think this routine will pick up a girl?

This is for meeting a random girl alone in the hallway. I usually make sure that I have enough time (10 mins max) to do this:

1) Open with something funny/situational: "Why are you out here alone? You're friends ditched you or something?"

2) She says (if she's not offended), "Nah, I just like being out here/Waiting for class to start"

3) Complement on something personal of her's (Hair, clothing, etc)

4) She smiles: "Thanks" (maybe she tells a story afterwards)

5) Introduce yourself and ask for her name

6) Banter + talk with her

7) Get out your phone and text someone random if the conversation drags

8) She may ask (ioi), "Who's that you're texting?"

9) You: "Just a friend. She's been nagging me all morning/day" (This show pre-selection and generates a bit of jealousy right?)

10) You: "Well, I have to go meet up with some friends. Maybe we can talk a little later on?" Smile

11) She smiles "Sure"

12) Facebook-close or #-close her


What do you guys think of this? I'm planning to try it tomorrow if I see a lonely girl. Any response is great.

I think the major point of controversy is the friend's comment... It needs to be a tad funnier because at the moment it just seems like you're being an ass...

I used to use one back in the day where if a girl was by herself in any situation, I'd walk up with a cocky grin and say:
"Excuse me, please tell your friends to keep it down a little "

It would 9 time out of 10 get a response and I'd go into role playing
"Naww that's okay, I'll be your friend, but I can't see you like that, let's go shopping! I'll turn you into a rockstar!"

or something similar
