So when I first started getting into the inner game side of PUA one of the first ideas I came across was the idea of the Renaissance man and being a "man". To me it's one of the most interesting ideas there is, especially in our modern society with changing gender roles and stereotypes. Then tonight on CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation for all you Americans) there was a program on it. It was interesting to see it from a different perspective that didn't really say whether it was good or bad, just the effects and the people.
So what do you guts think about how important it is to be a man in the traditional sense? Or is it good to be less traditional about it?

I feel that you must have some tradition and modern in you in order to be a real 'man'. Real men are always moving forward but at the same time not losing track of themselves.

One interesting point they made was how one of the qualities of a man is that of the provider, and that is still important but done in a different manner today compared to even 30 years ago.

The whole of PUA is based on tactics that natural, people who exhibit naturally manly qualities, use. Anything that makes you more like the qualities of a true man, is a good thing. I agree that there is a very definite emasculation of Men in society. I won't go into it much, if you want to listen to an epic rant on it, listen to David D's course, or watch fight club . I personally dont want to brag but I was talking to this one girl and she was talking about how I was different then all the other guys she has dated. She said that I was unlike all the guys she dated, instead of having the looks and attitudes of the modern hip culture, I embodied all the traits she had in seen in men, an 'old school' charisma and outlook. She said that she loved it, and that it was a breathe of fresh air compared to all the other boys shes dated. I will be the first to admit that we all have room to improve, but basing your mental and PUA foundation on accepting your masculinity is a good place to start, but thats just my opinion.

I think this is very true. Theirs actualy some pretty horrible shit going on with the plastics we use to contain liquids (im not crazy, look it up, its kind of fucking scary) that literaly blocks testosterone. And its happening on a societal level, as well as a biological one. Being a "real man" is a powerful tool, in that it can be an attraction trigger for most women, but be careful that it doesent restrict you.
