It seems a lot of new pick up artists in high school have gotten into it either through The Game by Neil Strauss or The Pick Up Artist on VH1 or whatever. The problem is that the Game they are talking about is waaaay different in High School. In fact, if you start to act like Mystery in High School you'll most likely be labeled a weirdo or creeper.
So I figured I should make a thread where we dispel Pick Up "rules".

When you meet a girl from another school or someone you don't know from your school, you CAN ask for her name before she asks you.
The 7 hour rule by Mystery is bullshit in High School.

Yeah, this is the first stuff i tell people when they tell me that they have read "the game" or "the mystery method" etc. All those are in highschool is a grade-A method to becoming creepy.

I sitll laugh when I see people in high school applying these methods and wearing funny large fur hats like mystery but yeah, I've read "the game" and had a REAL doubt on the credibility of those methods

The methods work, in the situation they were designed to work in, a CLUB. They DON'T work in HS.

Peacocking makes your a weirdo. (credit to Rakoon)
It's okay to know magic tricks and canned openers. But don't become the guy who keeps wanting to show people magic and asking for people's opinion. It's creepy.

When you meet a girl from another school or someone you don't know from your school, you CAN ask for her name before she asks you. Yea you can but strangely I often don't; I forget to introduce myself and she will ask for my name at some point, then I bust her balls about her not introducing herself. I just always forget

Many PUAs believe AMOGing should be considered a last resort. In High School, AMOGing is one of the most effective tool. Use it often, but wisely.

recently I reread the old game stuff, think mystery, ross jeffery, ect ect, and I would say the biggest rules to break would be routines. Now making your own little quips and responses is a good idea, but scripting a whole interaction like your both actors is fucking silly.
Also I disagree with AMOGing but only with definition.
Being Alpha in highschool works, but when i think AMOG, and the context that the mPUAs were referring to AMOG, they were referring to the tools and douchebags. sure its an acronym for Alpha Male Of the Group, but in every context its not the guy you want to be.
now controlling a vibe and having fun as well as not giving a shit is more of the definition your using for AMOG, and thats what I agree with.
On peacocking, having 1-2 interesting pieces of clothing or accessories, or having a ring and a necklace can be called peacocking, but unless you are Mystery and can pull it off, dont go overboard on it.

I think peacocking can be pulled off, but you gotta have a really strong frame and mabye be a bit whitty. Its definitely a more advanced thing but if you have solid inner game it can definitely help you out big time in setting you apart from the crowd.

Peacocking can be easily pulled off, depending who you are what it is you're "peacocking". I don't even like to think of it as peacocking though. My old school, one of the biggest linemen always wore fuzzy girl socks and adidas flip-flops, and he totally pulled it off. Bright pink shirts, and other things are easy to pull off because they're weird but not creepy weird. It's all in the confidence and the context.
