I've been going to school with the same kids in a relatively small town since 4th grade, until now in 11th. Since then, I've went through some pretty insane/drastic changes, and am starting to realize who I want to be.
Even though I've been making these changes, my reputation follows me, and it's proving hard to shake. I've decided to move to Arlington VA, near D.C. to finish up my final year of highschool.
I find that my social awkwardness and failure, to an extent, stems from my overbearing and sheltering mother who I've lived with all my life. Now having a chance to move in with my dad, I feel like I may have a shot at some peace and normality.
Would anyone else make this decision given the chance? If you would, what would you do differently at your new school? I hope I can take my new-found knowledge/experience and polish myself into something more acceptable and have a clean start.

Given your situation, if I were in your place, I would take the oppurtunity to switch schools in a flash. Now once you start attending your new school, you have a clean slate. The first day of school will be key to how the rest of your year might go. Be social, talk to everyone, maybe join a sports team. Good luck.

Yeah, I agree.
I think I'll give tennis a shot, having played football, baseball, basketball, soccer, and golf and not being all that great at any of them. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with tennis, but would it yell "gay" to the masses in high school?

Football adds value to you big time in the states... Even guys who don't play much. I have no idea cause school sports aren't big where I live. Changing your rep is difficult but not impossible, all I can say is keep at and keep making yourself better. Good luck, PM me if you some more advice etc

ANY sport is a dhv no matter how 'gay' it is. You kno how i kno cause i do FIGURE SKATING FUCKING FIGURE SKATING. The girls fucking love it cause i can play it off cool. I dont try to hide it or flaunt it. So if i can go around saying i figure skate you can definitly turn tennis into a dhv.

^ You know I do and when it comes to partner time he he he... In pretty much ANY type of dance on land or ice the man takes the dominant role. Figureskating and dance have helped me learn dominance (if your a guy and cant touch a girl your performance is gonna sux) and it helped me get use to touching beautiful women.
