wow man i like it, i'm really into psychedelic music though next time when you record try to get further away from the drums, they are a little over powering in the song

if the rhythm guitar knew how to tune his guitar, the band would sound amazing.

I like the idea, it's really funky and cool. Watch the tempo, it wanders a little bit as the song progresses. And you guys should totally get a multi-track recorder, then you could do some proper mixing.
As an alternative, you could get a drum mic, and run all four channels through a cheap mixer. You might also want to invest in some noise gates to clean up your sound.
The song itself doesn't really seem to be going anywhere, though. You should check out "Job's Eyes" by Far, it's a different sound, but structurally I think it's pretty close to what you're looking for.

You should learn how to improvise as a band. Thats what my band is learning and its soo much fun. Listen to some early phish or umphry's mcgee. Those are the best two bands at doing it BY FAR. That's how you could mix up the song as it progresses.

That sounds pretty good, lots of improvisation. And record everything you do, so you can go back and reconstruct it if you hear something really cool.

thanks for you're feedback everyone. We have practice tomorrow and I'm gonna try and actually finish one of our songs. The only song we recorded on our myspace, was done with a cheap microphone, and it sounds horrible. My friend has this mixing board for his computer but honestly I don't think he knows how to use it. Any advice with recording would be greatly appreciated!

If at all possible, record each instrument individually. That will allow you to mix the tracks properly which will do wonders for your sound.

Yeah we did that last time, but the problem is more about the quality of the recordings, it all just sounded really gritty.

We recorded with a vocal microphone hooked up to a little soundboard hooked up to my friend's computer. So we recorded each part individually, and then pieced it all together in a music editing program.

Sorry, I'm a little confused. When you say you recorded each part individually, do you mean you overdubbed each track? (ie you recorded the drums first, then the guitar, and each instrument on up)

your problem is that you are playing everything into a vocal mic. If you can, go directly into the sound board, or if you want the effects from your amps, go from you instrument to the amps then to the sound board. Try to stay away from playing into the vocal mic cause that's what makes everything so gritty.
