The Friend-zone
What is the point of living? This is a vast, and fairly open ended question, but from an evolutionary standpoint it is easily answered.
The point of living is to survive long enough to reproduce and rear healthy young, so that they can survive long enough to rear their own young.
Why survival or reproduction is important is not explained, but these are the basis of our evolutionary psychology. Now human beings are social creatures, we thrive in social networks, and more often then not we survive better as a group rather then alone. Evolution favors in humans an ability to make connections, and man oh man there are lots of them. Familial, platonic, sexual, temporary, survival, we make all these connections with different people in order to better survive and rear healthy young.
PUA concerns itself with the social connections with members of the opposite sex, social connections which are more sexual and close then just the average conversation between strangers. The only problem with focusing solely on this kind of relationship is it is easy to fall into the kind of relationship girls need.
Girls unlike guys receive affection from all kinds of different sources, and they also receive finical and emotional aid from a close network of people. Hot girls understand that men who are not men, boys who have merely grown up, make perfect societal connections, their like asexual robots who she can share with and not be threatened by their sexuality. A true man is a total threat to her life, he might get her pregnant and she could die, whereas a strong male friend that has no interest in her is perfect if she needs a shoulder to cry on, or a favor that needs doing. Strong alpha males also have platonic relationships with certain females, but for different reasons. A healthy relationship with a hot girl that you aren't fucking can lead to you being introduced to her social network, it also gives you another source of affection, which helps stabilize long term relationships and keeps a woman from holding her affection like some grand prize.
However, most guys are not Alpha males, and don't understand how friendships and sexual relationships work, and more often then not, become slaves to girls they have sexual desires for.

To be put in the friend zone is when someone who is sexually interested in a member of the opposite sex and is engaged in a platonic relationship in order to reach that goal.
