Hey, so I recently joined a gym, and am pretty skinny. What I want to focus on now is gaining muscle. Not just abs/chest, but all around. Like become more fit overall. But I don't know very much about working out. So I come to you guys What is/are your workout routines? Like, what exercises/machines do you do/use, how many reps do you do etc. I'm interested in a full body workout. Maybe one that works all the major areas of your body in one or two gym sessions. Share your experiences guys!

www.muscleandstrength.com/workouts/25-doug--s-super-shredding-routine.html that was the workout I used, I am not advertising a site but if some mod feels that way then delete the post not a problem. But this seemed to work well for me, if you are skinny don't worry about the cardio but I got a lot of muscle from all the sets and reps. I am about to start taking supplements soon too so it will help me get pretty jacked. This workout may be a little harder for you if your more bone but don't worry about using light weights because you will only increase your strength, that's what a gym is for.

^ I personally use a full body 3 day workout and don't take any supplements (personal belief)
How'd that work out work for ya? I'm curious because i'm thinking of switching to 5 day sometime in the next 6 months....

I have no reason to cheat the truth, I wasn't able to stick to it everyday. I mean obviously I tried to go everyday but once you keep building muscle and are increasing weights, it gets tough doing that many reps so you will get pretty sore. But I thought it was great because I don't mind being sore since it reminds me of the hard work I put in going to the gym for 2-3 hours. I would try it if I were you bro, if you can't do 8 sets 8 reps per workout then just do as many as you can, it's a great workout I am actually going to start it up again cause I'm leaving for the gym in 30 minutes.

2-3 hours? Don't go overtraining now brah. Tips for building muscle: Eat like an animal and train like an animal. I usually lift for over an hour but then do 30-45 minutes for abs and 30 minutes on the stairmaster. 8 sets of 8 reps doing about 4 different exercises (1 muscle group a day ex.) mon- shoulders, tues- back) is very time consuming. And also I usually will go alone but I know a lot of people there since most kids from both of the high schools I went too and other high school kids that know me are there so I will talk and my rest time will be longer than 30 seconds per set. Also, sometimes I will play basketball before or just play basketball for abour 3-4 hours doing 5v5 (not playing the whole time since losing team gets off the court, even though I don't lose ) so that also helps with cardio. Today I got "Jack3d" Pre-workout supplement since it has about 1.5g creatine I think is what the guy told me but don't hold me to that, but since creatine can damage your liver my dad said he would pay for it as long as it has little to none. But the kid I know at GNC and some ripped dude both said it was probably one of the best items available and it was obviously under the top selling section. So I will let you guys know how it is and if I recommend it. I also tried "Animal Pak" which I am pretty sure is a multivitamin (you can look it up if you would like to be sure) but it also gives you more energy and it worked for me. My friend uses one of the higher "animal" workout supplements so he gives me that "animal pak" and I liked it even though I chewed it which you are actually supposed to just swallow them and it tasted absolutely terrible but I was able to add more weight to my workout and I didn't feel sore until the very end and it was still minimal.

Jack3d seemed to help me for a bit, maybe I was waiting too much to see huge difference so that's why it might have seemed like a minimal help but I do realize now that I had a ton of energy and I did up my weights by 5 which is a lot considering its 8 sets of 8 reps per exercise. I also didn't get sore except a little with my right arm since it is weaker. But after 2 hours of lifting I was able to play basketball like I hadn't even lifted before (after a few warm up shots). Overall I liked it and I might just increase my intake by 1/2 a spoon since I have been lifting for a while which is alright since you are directed 1 scoop but 3 is the max. I would also add that it doesn't taste bad since you mix it with water (I got grape). Gave me a solid workout though.

Didn't read that workout fully but it seems like a lot of cardio and aimed at losing weight. I was talking to a personal trainer (my buddy's older bro) and he helped me out and the main thing is 10 reps 6 sets (first warmup) with a weight where you feel it on the last rep of your first set. 30 seconds rest. Thats for hypertrophy (muscle building), and it helped me ALOT (along with my good friends food and creatine )

Yea I'm about to start using jack3d, currently just using protein. If you want a full body workout in like 1-2 gym sessions split upper and lower body. Day 1)arms, shoulders, chest, a bit of back. Day 2)legs, abs, lower back. Generally 5-10 reps is good at the largest weight possible. Google simply shredded or something, it's a solid bodybuilding site but has good workout routines

www.muscleandstrength.com/ is where I get my workout, but I have basically just been going with what I want the past two weeks. I like to do like one muscle group a day day1. arms, day 2. chest. and so on... But I have just been doing a lot of arms and chest with cardio or basketball (still great cardio) and ending with abs. But yeah I wanna go again today cause when using Jack3d I didn't really feel sore or anything except my right arm a few times since it is weaker. So that makes going to the gym easier for me and I also get to play basketball after completely fine.
