i understand the desire to impress the opposite sex, but it can often lead to the complete opposite of the desired effect.
boys, you can tell when a girl is trying to hard can't you? well the same goes for men. it is painfully obvious when men are trying to impress a girl and a vast majority of the time, it is more of a turn OFF than a turn ON.
there is nothing wrong with wanting to look your best or do your best when the girl you like is around, its perfectly natural. but when you keep trying to prove your "alpha male" status by putting down the other men around you or talking about yourself or your accomplishments at length, you enter a danger zone. women love a man who is accomplished, intelligent, and manly. but you don't need to prove that to her to the point where she now thinks your an ass.
heres a story that im pretty sure you will all know the faults in, but if not, i will explain it for you. today i was spending time with a guy that ive known since i was ten and he just got back from boot camp. now pause, a man in uniform is always sexy so the fact that he was just back should have been enough to impress me. BUT he continued to talk to me about every minor accomplishment that he had made and every "ass i beat" while at camp until i wanted to run out of his room. he then proceeded to drop to the floor and begin counting out push ups.... um im sorry what? now dont get me wrong, this guy is a good friend of mine and i love him to death, but this was above and beyond anything that was remotely necessary.
so when you score that winning goal of the game, or you aced that test in advanced chem, thats awesome and definitely something to share with the girl you like... but dont recount every detail of the last 10 seconds of the game or go into detail how your score was the highest in the class and you beat everyone else.
im sure yall have heard this all before, but less is ALWAYS more. confidence is always attractive, but cockiness isn't. just remember the value of balance when trying to impress a girl.
