The way I see it, there are two ways to break down pickup, natural vs. scripted (canned routines v vibing) and direct vs. indiect ("You look interesting" v Opinion opener). Mystery is all about the indirect scripted game, while Vincent DiCarlo likes direct natural game. Where do you stand?

mystery is good for newbies who don't have looks and not a master in body language !!! but if you have looks....you have pre selection...and you have a good body language then bingo (direct) !!!...besides mystery is more fun!

Indirect & natural. Using routines now and then once you get good is like GUN POWDER.

Indirect/Scripted, not everything I say or even 50% of what I say is scripted, but I do use a lot of MM routines to great success. And for me personally, I work better when there's some kind of structure and with MM there's a structure.
But at the same time, I have no problem with natural game, in fact, I've been watching a lot of David Wygant videos on Youtube lately and I'm planning on implementing a lot of his stuff into my game. I've learned a lot from everyone, including all of the natural guys like Gambler and Vin Dicarlo.

I think a lot of "naturals" go for the indirect natural game. It's probably the best skillset to have. That said, if you're gaming with some mystery routines, it's just so much fun to see them react to all this scripted material.
That said, I usually write out my DHV stories and negs and stuff before hand, but natural game is essential to establishing a relationship.

I think that The Mystery Method is the basics of the interaction between a man a a woman.
What I'm actually trying to do with my game is to be a combination of Mystery Method and Natural.
So I have the model (A1,A2...) and instead of filling it with canned things I can be more natural.
Still, canned is good to start.
