I read through this, and disagreed with it, though you may call this ridiculous my view is that it is too optimistic.
Certainly WE may be in a situation to grab our lives and do something about them, but not all men can, genes don't guarantee that.
Life is very tricky, some people get lucky, some people get unlucky, the work that we put in is probably 50% of how our lives turn out, but usually it's just 'right place, right time' or 'who you know (which is subsequently because you were lucky to have the chance to meet them)' However having said that you have to be putting in effort to meet people and be the type of person they like, hence why i said it's 50/50 - luck and effort.
So i disagree that we can do anything - you can't just take any path and make yourself a success, BUT, you can make your dreams out of the path that you have already taken, and this is what i see in this post, because this is what great men do.

One of the points of the article is to help you take responsibility for your life. It is impossible for you to control every single facet of your life, but you still need to be responsible for it, and if nothing else, how you react to your circumstances.
Luck and effort are important, but if you've met anyone actually successful, you'll find that they create their own luck, and they find anyway possible to make their effort minimal. Its actually all about MINDSET. Being at the right place, and the right time, doesnt mean shit if you cant tell an opportunity from a scam. If you have an abundance mindset, and you look for it in the world, you will find more opportunity and wealth you have ever dreamed of. Sure some people start out disadvantaged, but thats where the success stories come in, did you know that most millionaires in america are firs generation? That means they grew up in either poverty or middle class settings, and made all that wealth on their own.
Sure if you were born with spina bifida your not going to be a track star, but genes arent as controlling as you may think, your genetic code is being rewritten as you read this very article, the DNA you had when you were 7 and the DNA you have now are actually different, neat huh?
I am of the camp that you can do whatever the fuck you want if you are sound of mind and sound of body. a little more then 100 years ago people said it was impossible to fly, 50 years later WE PUT A MAN ON THE FUCKING MOON.
And then you need to take into account what success means:
the favorable or prosperous termination of attempts or endeavors.
Which means you can fail at many of your endeavors, but its not a failure if you have that one favorable one. Thomas Edision didnt make 1000 lightbulbs that didnt work, it only took him a thousand tries to learn how to make one that did.
If you are a MAN, not just a male, you can accomplish anything, do anything, fuck whomever you please, rule the world, or anything else you want, because the only limits are the ones you set upon yourself, thats the realistic outlook.

This doesn't happen very often, but I totally agree with what prodigy is saying. I am BLESSED to have been born to loving supportive parents, and I'm BLESSED to have everything at my disposal that I do, but I'm sure as hell not lucky. Nobody "gets lucky" or doesn't "get lucky." Luck isn't real. Luck is a creation by people with skill who don't know why what they did works. If a guy goes home with a girl and says he got lucky, basically he's saying is he has NO IDEA why a hot girl would want to go home with him, and he must have just gotten lucky. If you know what you are doing, have confidence in yourself, and take responsibility for your successes and failures, you'll realize that there is no luck. WHICH BRINGS ME TO ANOTHER POINT. Saying that some people are lucky and some people aren't is an easy way to give yourself an out. It's an easy way to say, "hey, I failed, but I must have just been unlucky." Or, "I can't do that, I'm just not a lucky person." Sounds like you gave yourself a super convenient way out there doesn't it? Sounds to me like your 50/50 luck and effort formula is more a 50/50 excuses and effort formula.

HELL NO LUCK ISNT 50% of the equation. Think about some famous people who were "unlucky" (there are so many) if anything luck would be 10-20% if it had any effect.

whats the difference between you being 'blessed' to have something and just being lucky to have something?

i'm afraid you've misunderstood my point I don't believe in luck in the traditional sense, if a man passes a test and says he must of been lucky, that's bullshit. Luck as a THING doesn't exist, there's nothing shining over you giving you an advantage BUT my point is, and this is kinda complex.
If i miss getting hit by a car by an inch, i'd still say MAN I GOT LUCKY, there wasn't something shining over me giving me luck, that doesn't exist. It was just a coincidence that i happened to not get hit, but to get that close, the word you tend to use is 'lucky' (or unlucky, depends)
So when i say it's 50% luck, i don't mean if you're lucky the girl will like you, because like i said this bullshit doesn't exist.
50% luck means your life just happens to play out in certain ways, one path leads to another and on this path there HAPPENS to be things that are beneficial to you, you're lucky they're there, but not because you had luck on your side, just because them happening to be there is a good thing.
To sum up in simpler terms, there's no such thing as luck, it's just an adjective i was using.

life is random, but if you expect to end up somewhere you can always make it happen within reason
