^dude don't tune like I know nothing. There's no scientific proof to suggest that carbs later at night have any more affect than in the morning etc. Yes carbs are used for energy, so is fat, hell pretty much anything you take in can be used as energy. Thus no carbs in the evening, were it true, should be changed to NO FOOD in the evening. Where did I once say anything about gaining mass? I told him the only way to lose fat is a calorie deficit which is the absolute truth. So don't tell me I need to go learn about fitness and nutrition, that whole no carb thing is totally bro-science. I know you're knowledgable about this subject but so am I. You have shown zero evidence for anything that you have stated www.leangains.com/2011/06/is-late-night-eating-better-for-fat.html Go look at study 5 and then tell me I know nothing. www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss if my knowledge is flawed, as it is according to you, take up the argument with Lyle McDonald. He's pretty much dedicated his life to this sorta thing and is possibly one of the best and most knowledgable person in this field. I've got much of my knowledge from research and studies that he's analyzed or conducted. Maybe you should go and get some knowledge on nutrition and fitness before you tell me I'm wrong. <3

Your bodys metabolism naturally slows when your sleeping. That coupled with the fact that your not burning nearly as many calories as when your awake its only natural that your gonna gain weight. Fat is created by the body when you have access carbs, as im sure you probably know. So when your laying there with all the carbs you just ate before bed being digested and not used. Where does it go? Boom gets turned into fat.
I think the way i explained it makes sense. If you guys want me to reference my university physiology and nutrition books I will but its kind of a hastle.
and danzy, you said that fat is used as energy, yes it is, so is protein sometimes. But carbs are what your body is going to use as a first priority for a source of energy. Once it runs out of carbs it then goes on to fat or protein.

Baby<3 and Danzy, coming from the fact that I have transformed my body and I am going to probably become a personal trainer and have helped some of my friends with nutrition and shit, I DO know what I am talking about. I am just not going to take pics of my shirt off and shit so you can masturbate to it on this site as "evidence". I was just saying you're argument would be valid if it was relative to this thread. If he is shredding, why the fuck would he want to put on more weight whether it be muscle mass or not? It's stated in his first post, you won't need your buddy Lyle McDonald to explain it to you I hope..... P.S. Prodigy, I already know big boy

Jmac, I said you know what you're talking about-"I know you're knowledgable about this topic"? Where did I once say anything about gaining mass either? Im seriously confused as to why you keep bringing it up because I have not once said that. Did either of you guys read the study? It completely disproved what you say. It actually showed that those who ate the majority of their carbs in the evening lost more fat!

Well eating carbs after an intense workout are good to refuel your body and get some more energy, even though you get energy from like everything as you guys already know but all I am saying is that if you are getting shredding its just better not to eat carbs late at night if you arent going to be doing any sort of activities.

No I didn't because in all honesty I have been on multiple muscle sites and talked to my best friends cousin who is a professional bodybuilder in which I have heard otherwise and it's been working for me so I will just stick to what I do but I won't argue over it because if it works for you or anyone else than that's great.

Look, this is the point; what it really just comes down to is a deficit. He doesn't need to be worrying about carbs at night/no carbs at night. It's fairly easy to get down to 10% body fat without too much of an inconvenience like that. Once you get down to 10% body fat, then it becomes a lot harder, but for now you don't really need to worry about having/not having carbs at night. And if you really do want to worry about that, if you go to bed at 11, a cut off of 8 should be fine

Wild boy hahaha
