This thread is Primarily for people who want to workout, but dont want to go to the gym or buy equipment. Here you will learn how to make your own equipment, and anything about exercising.
No one in my house knows that i workout, ofcourse they can tell by the results that i have been doing something. And i dont want anyone in the house to know that i workout, thats just how i am. So you can imagine that i cant get my hands on some good workout equipment. So i managed to adapt to this EXTREMELY well using household items. I my self am surprised on the stuff i created to workout with. And i would like to share this with the people who dont want to go gym or spend big bucks on equipment. I was skinny my whole life and i mean underweight unhealthy skinny. But when i was 16 i got tired of all the people telling me how skinny i was. 1 year later, and every week at school people tell me how buff i got. Guys telling me i have alot of muscles, girls telling me i got hot, and i love it.
I am going to cover ,how to make your own equipment.
I probably cant tell you everything you want to know right now, so afterwards if you have any questions just ask. And if you want to know about which exercises to do and anything about diet (diet to gain weight and muscles, remember i have never been overweight so i would not know how to diet for that) just leave a comment and i will post something. Cuz right now im just handling how to make your own equipment.
How to make your own equipment:
The main thing you would want is a barbell and alot of weights, with this you can do a bunch of exercises for different muscles. i use it for; bicep, quadricep, calves, chest, lats, traps, chest and forearm. As you can see with the barbell you can do alot.
How to make a barbell: what you need: - a broom - 2 heavy duty bags - And a whole lot of bottles - minimum 4 rags (like the ones maids wear) - 8 elastic bands
-I found this old broom in the garden that no one uses, so i popped off the top, and that will be your bar.
-I had a few supermarket bags laying around, they are big and built to hold a lot of weights, so that is what i used.
-Now for the weights. I get those 2 Liter cola bottles from the supermarket every week. Any bottle you can find you save. I collected 18 2 Liter cola bottles and 10 590 mL water bottles. Then you fill them up with water. 1 L of water is equivalent to 2,2 pounds. So in total I have approximately 105 pounds of weights, thats a lot to work with. So you divide the weight evenly into each of those bags. And now you have weights. Best part of this is that if some amount of weight becomes too easy for you, you can easily collect more bottles to add more weight.
- These rags do serve a purpose. If you put the bag of weights on the bar, it will slide off while you are working out. here is where the rags come in. You will tie 2 rags around the bar on each side, with some distance between the rags on a side so the handle area of the bag can go inbetween here. This will prevent the bags from slipping off.
- But now the rags will slide since the bar offers no friction (resistance). To keep it in place you use elastics. You slide 2 elastics on each side of every rag. And you wrap up the elastics tightely so it doesnt move. And now you are set to do some workouts with a barbell.
If you cant get all these things, than just improvise and use what you have. I didnt go out to buy any of these stuff, i just had them lying around the house.
I wish i had pictures to show you exactly what it should look like.
Remember if you want to know what exercises to do, just ask me.
Hope this helps you.

That will work for a bit until you get strong and the broom snaps or you just get sick of fucking putting bottles of water to workout... Seriously get a gym membership most schools have a gym if not real ones are not that expensive... If your really poor that you can't afford it but otherwise get off your lazy ass and go to a real gym

Well first of all me working out at home is getting me fucking ripped. I could probably do as much at home as in a damn gym. Except i dont need to pay 50$ a month. And i can guarantee you that the broom wont snap, unless you use one hand and hold the broom in the middle, but that would be stupid cuz thats not what barbells are for.

I'm working out at home to, but thats because I'm to young for weights in the gym (how old do you have to be in the US?) Of course if you really want to, you can go to a gym, there are some where they don't care about how old you are, but its not good for your body, so I'm just working out at home. I mosty don't use stuff to work out, but things as push ups, dragenflags, pull ups and other excercises. I do have 2 weights of 5 kilo (if it gains to easy you can put em together = 10kilo). And it has made me pretty ripped and costs not one euro (haha european)

I can almost guarantee you that you can do more in a properly equipped gym. Also that brooms going to snap if you do any proper lifts, deads, squats etc because the weight is simply going to become too much. Ask you questions? Dude you're only doing isolation exercises, that's pointless. Go to timmywimmy's motivation thread and look at the look at the links me and lightersix posted. Those are real workouts, with real exercises, with real results. You've only got 47kgs to play with, that's nothing bro. If after a year you're only using that sorta weight, there's a hell of a long way to go

In the end it all comes down to what you want to achieve. If you want to become some bulky ass bodybuilder then of course you cant do that at home with 47 kg. And probably no one working out at home wants to have a bodybuilder body. I find that looking like those people, too bulky, is disgusting and i know for a fact that a lot of girls also think so. So what I and the majority of people who work out at home want, is to get fit and a decent amount of muscle. And you can do that with 47 kg, You cant become bodybuilder with 47 kg but that is not what we want.
And if you think that isolation exercises or pointless then I seriously wish i had a camera, so i can show you what i look like. Because the results i got in that 1 year is just ridiculous. And working out at home is enough to get those results.
Its all about what your goal is. The goal for people working out at home have can be achieved at the same rate as in a gym. And our goal is not to get disgusting bodybuilder bodies, it is to get sexy male model bodies. Working out with these home made equipment gave me this sexy body. Im not that bulky bodybuilder whos lats are so huge that he cant even touch his own ass. Im that fit sports bodied guy you see girls sobbing over. And in the end all guys, except for bodybuilders want to look like this.
And i realy believe your underestimating isolation workouts.
But thanks for your opinion on the whole situation, much appreciated:)

But thanks for your opinion on the whole situation, much appreciated:) I love it how you think using proper size weights will make you a bulky bodybuilder. Have you ever seen a professional male fitness model? They're all ripped and muscular guys, do you think they got there with 47kgs? No, my mom can bench more than that and she weighs like 54kgs. If your results are ridiculous with just 1 year of training, of only isolation exercises, please do tell us your height and weight. You said you've always been super skinny? Unless you've been eating around 6000 calories a day, I doubt you've gotten anywhere. I won't be surprised that your initial noob gains are over and that you've stalled. If you're using that sorta weight for all exercises, you're going to have a big top and tiny legs. It's not a case of what your goals are, all male models will use far more weight than what you're using and far better workouts. I'm guessing people think you've got a good body because you're skinny and short and therefore it makes your abs stick out and your biceps appear larger than they are. Weightlifting fact: guys with shorter arms look like they have bigger biceps than they really do. I'm not underestimating isolation exercises because I've used them. They work up to a point, from there gains become near impossible. Want to know how I got past that? Compound exercises. I get told I've got a hot body all the time too mate. Remember, a six pack on a skinny guy is like big boobs on a fat chick. It doesn't count

I am 6'0 (183 cm). And i weight 154 pounds (70 kg). I am not skinny anymore. BMI:20.9 When i first started eating a whole lot and exercising a whole lot it was in mid July 2010. I weighed 118 pounds (54 kg), BMI:16.7. So i gained 36 pounds. Im not gonna say that all that 36 lbs came from muscle mass, cuz i have seen some extra fat here and there. But I still have a bodyfat% of 11%.
And about that 47 kg, that is the weight i had at that moment. Now i have 50 kg. In this house we go through 5 2 L waterbottles a week. So if i can collect them all before they get thrown away. I can add 10 kg a week to my total weights. Right now it may not be a lot. But in 2 months i should have over 120 kg to play with. Oh and i dont have big top tiny legs. I workout my legs plenty and with different weights, much more than weights than my bicep.

Oh and i actually do do a few compound exercises: Deadlifts (love those), Flat bench press, Squat, Military press, Clean & Press, Bent over row and Pull-ups. Cuz I believe you have the impression that I ONLY do isolation exercises.
And I do it all with my cheap homemade barbell.

No need to hate boys. But man, you WILL get better results with more weight. If your happy without, good for you. I'm 6'1" and ~152lbs right now. I got nice abs and killer shoulders. I'm around 8% body fat right now, hoping to hit 6%.
Just to give an idea of what sort of weight is plausible for someone of our similar physique, here are my stats on the big exercises for 5 reps.
Bench - 155lb Deadlift - 225lb Squats - 150lb Shoulder press (seated) - 55lb per hand Bent over Rows - 140lb
My leg stuff is super low weight for what it should be. It will be that way until I stop growing since my knees are fucked til then. Your choice man, I don't care either way but my local gym (and leisure centre) is only $250 for a year pass for 13-17 year olds.

Thats the problem though, I dont see myself going to a gym because Im studying my ass off this year, so i have a higher chance of getting into medical university. And going to a gym will take more time off then working out at home. But I probably will go to a gym next year when i go to University in Holland babyyy (love those european girls).
I probably could up the weights to get similar weight numbers as what your doing but that will take a while, since i got bottles to collect to ump up the weight. Im now at 55 kg, 122lbs of weights but in a week i can bring it up to 150 lbs.

Were not skinny, were ripped, juked, out of the workshop, just came out of the cupboard, jacked up, rimmed down, squirt up, hicky'd to the side, oozing and whatever other expressions they have.
