I am fucking dying. I'm a freshmen (the easiest fucking grade) and i currently have bs (83%), a b+, a c+ and a d (in latin.. .fucking hard.) I turn in ALL homework. And I understand all of the homework. I just FAIL all of my tests. I'm fucking dying. I already have been fucking depressed as fuck the past year and these grades are just killing me. I'm outgoing... just internally I have a death wish. It's not a solvable thing... since it's a wish. But it's just these grades... they really are fucking killing me. And if I can't get the grades now. How am I going to be able to as a junior. I want to go to Whitman or Georgetown. I'm smart enough to. I just cannot fucking get tests. I am a critical thinker. I just am really shitty at remembering details. And it's fucking me in the ass. ANY ideas? I'm trying cornell notes... I take good notes. I just. Dont. Know. What. To. DO.

For me, highschool was a huge jump from middle school. As a result, I was absolute SHIT first quarter. However, after seeing that our semester grades were 40% each quarter and 20% final exam, I calculated that I could still get all the grades I wanted if I tried really hard the following quarter and studied for the final, which I did.
Don't worry too much, you'll still have one more quarter where you are used to the course load and you won't feel as overwhelmed, and then you'll have a final exam which could boost your grade up even more.
BUT! dude you still have 7 more semesters of high school to go, lol. That's plenty of time to go from a 3.5 GPA to a 4.2 GPA (or something like that).
I learned in psychology that a little stress can actually increase performance, but any more past a certain level can cause it to deteriorate quickly. SO! If you want to do better in school, then try to stop worrying so much and just focus on doing the best that you can do, and remember that you still have a lot more time to improve.
BTW, freshman year was my hardest 'fucking grade'

If you are having problems remembering details Cornell would be a good idea, MAKE SURE YOU REVIEW YOUR NOTES DAILY! Cramming will not help you if you have problems remembering details, you are gonna have to be organized and constantly study if you want the grades

make your self quiz and recall notes, as a different part of your brain is used in reading vs recalling (or so the internetz tells me). These are like a summary of the notes you take, in a question and answer format. Its a lot of effort but it helps me a ton in university.

But, how long should it take me to go over notes for one class a night?

Don't Cram, but study bits by bits right before you go to bed. Your brain holds it in...i dont know how, its just medically proven it does.
Too much however, on top of stress, is the opposite effect, so study wisely. also, before the test/quiz/exam etc etc...eat a well balanced meal, go over the material and close the book and don't worry about it...listen to some calm music in the car, and take the test. Don't stress, because there's nothing to worry about if you know deep inside you did your best to study.
If you have anxiety, after studying well and planning accordingly, the stress will take over your mind during the test and block out any information you would have known to put down causing a chain reaction to you failing your test. Just be calm.

Also, talk to your teachers as timmy said...If you go to all of your teachers, explain the problem and explain the VAST EFFORT you put into trying to pass their class, When it comes down to a 79.3333333, they'll give you that 80. THEY'LL GIVE YOU THAT C, B, OR A.

yea listen to theory and mikedaman cramming highschool subjects won't do shit even if it worked for you in middle school. you got to review all your courses for at least 3 days before the test at least 30 minutes a day. There were psychological studies that show that people learn the most when they sleep and not when they're awake. also if you get your teacher's sympathy and they see that you really are trying hard they WILL give you a boost or the benefit of the doubt and score you up a couple points just don't get on their bad sides or be obvious in sucking up to them. Just be sincere I was also in your position where I started getting C's on my tests but when I started studying for a couple days before the test I started even getting A's and higher B's. Also if you get too stressed out and feel like exploding go take a walk or some kind of reward system for every half hour or subject you finish. you don't want to burn out and feel like giving up
good luck bro

Effort will be needed if you really want to have good grades. I don't believe in cramming since you'll forget it right away after the test. Listen to the discussions and take notes. Write all the things you understand and those that you don't so you can ask the teacher about it afterwards. My high school is pretty strict with grades so extra studying and effort comes a long way to have good grades. Don't pull yourself down. Move forward and try even harder.
