Yes. You definitely use them after. I generally have two scoops of WHEY protein powder, make sure its whey, for instance cassein protein is slow release (so for when your going to bed, but thats another topic). I have read some places that you should take 1 scoop before working out. I don't, so I don't know if that actually helps. But protein powder afterworking out is a must.

Try to take as little supplements as possibel (mess up your kidney / liver) Whey AFTER a workout is good (1 quick scoop) but you should be getting the majority of your protein in food form (chicken, fish, lean beef). Cassein protein is a "slow" release protein, eat it before going to sleep, the best form of this protein is cottage cheese.

well a tip for P90X... Don't be that toolbag whose all like "yeah I'm badass I do P90X mother fuckers" or makes a Facebook status about it everyday... Then again that applies to any working out

Gym is significantly more efficient, especially if you know what your doing, P90x is decent for getting "cut"

I checked out P90X but didnt like it that much. I train Judo so i just combine trainings there with basic excercises like pushups(different kinds), dips(BEST excercise for tricpes), chin ups, pull ups, sit ups... I only use weight for biceps. I think using your OWN BODYWEIGHT excercises makes your body grow in natural ratio as multiple muscle are involved And about proteins shakes... i do use protein shake (1 cup of WHEY proteins 90% (about30g)) after workout like that, rest i eat normally... Gained about 7kg muscle mass in 6 months since using it My 2 cents

Only using your own bodyweight is a waste of time, your muscles will grow to a point, stop and never progress any further. Compound lifts (squats, bench, overhead press etc) are what you require. Want big biceps? Weighted chins are the way
