Last year I was an asshole, but I was the kind of asshole if you chirped I wouldn't really say anything and stand up for myself. Anyways this year ive gotten nicer, and ive also made it a point to stand up for myself in situations. I made it a point to look past whoever the fuck it was being an asshole and never let it be acceptable.
Now, theres this one guy in my social circle (of about 40-50 people) who fucks with everyone physically and verbally (physically in the sense where he like plays with their body and shit), some people don't like him and think he's annoying and whatever. Either way people in the circle usually respect him cause he throws parties and for other reasons I don't understand. Now last year I was nice to him, I let him fuck with me and what not. He threw two 30-40 person parties and I wasn't invited to either. Now, this year I've been kind of dick to him. Everytime he tries to fuck with me in class like do random shoulder touching shit ill loudly say what the fuck are you doing. Which is probably pretty embarrassing for him, id assume so cause he always stops after I say it. One time he was being annoying and doing this thing where he pretends to shoot a gun with his fingers and blows air in your face, I loudly said "You have bad breath". Anyways, today he made a facebook event for a 20 person party/chills and I was invited. I'm baffled by this. Like I don't give a fuck about the party, I'll be on vacation in Florida when its happening. But why was I invited? Is this a mistake? Why the fuck would he invite me after all that shit? All I can assume is that by standing up for myself to him ive earned his respect. I've heard that a lot, standing up for yourself will cause people to respect you. But this is my first real experience of that coming true. This thread really doesn't have too much of a purpose I'm just baffled. Has anyone else had an experience like this where you saw first hand how standing up for yourself earned you more respect?
