Hey, So my girlfriend has an eating disorder which she was hospitalized last year multiple times for (I didn't know her, but that's what she told me.) We were talking and basically she told me that I should tell her if she seems to be getting thinner. I don't know if I can tell though because shes already very thin. Has anyone on this forum had a girlfriend with an eating disorder? Or a friend? I'd love some input as to how to help with this. -jjunius9

Usually my advice would be gtfo but she IS your girlfriend. Unfourtanatly there is nothing you can do. She has to do this on her own. If you go too deep you will end up emotionally crippled. She will just keepgoing in circles and you will be along for the most stressful ride of your life.
I know from experience trying to help this girl with depression for about a year. If you really want to help her just be there for her but remember you come first.

^Yea, basically. Try and talk her through her problems for support. Don't say "I know how you feel" say "I have no idea how that would be" It's more feminine and comforting. Be all protecting as well, but don't try and solve shit. As in, tell her you're there for her but don't tell her what she should do.

I know I'm first, I have that under control. And I feel like I will just do that, be there for her. If she starts seeming to be rubbing off on me and hurting me than I will definitely try and leave, or at least get myself back to earth.
