I used to be extremely self-conscious - around this time 2 years ago, I was just starting accutane for my terrible acne, and I was scared to shit to even look a hot girl/alpha guy in the eye, much less keep a coherent conversation with him/her.

This confidence goes way farther than just getting girls. This is shit that will help you out in whatever job you have down the road, any social interactions you ever have, and so on.
The feeling (or, more precisely, the lack thereof) is so fucking freeing, I can't even describe it, you just have to experience it for yourself.
In a minute, I'm going to show you guys what I did on my journey to be where I am now, because I went through it fast, and somewhat recently, so I remember all the places I went to get this confidence I have now.
I know some of the other guys on the forum say "just do it, it's your own journey" but newbies need some direction. That's what I hope to accomplish here.

There's an imageboard, 4chan.org, where some of the most sick-minded/basement dwelling/VERY SMART people in the world post all kinds of stuff, including infopics (informational pictures), which are images that will educate you on literally any area of knowledge you want.
They've got pictures explaining human psychology, scale drawings of Mt. Everest/the Mariana trench/the Titanic wreck/the known universe, morse code, lockpicking, the theory of relativity, why religion is a farce, quantum computing and, my favorite, life-improvement.
I started collecting them because they're fucking fascinating. I stockpiled a ginormous 400MB folder of these infopics, and I can actually give you guys a link if you want it. Just PM me. I mean look at some of this shit:

The first thing to do is read that infopic from the 4chan board. It'll (hopefully) inspire you and show you what's possible if you just open your mind up, and all the girl advice on there is totally legit.
In fact, I didn't realize it till later, but the guy is basically preaching the concepts behind all those "acronyms" and shit used in the PUA biz - ASD, cat-string theory, congruence, etc. (n00bs please ignore what I just said.)

You guys might want to check out The Blueprint, a video series by RSD nation. I've only seen parts of it, but judging from just that, it's awesome. Tyler is a total stud and a funny motherfucker. I think it's kind of like most of the concepts RSD preaches, packed into an extremely useful video package.

Yes, they matter. But not like you think. Good looks will take you places as far as getting girls goes. They'll be much more inclined to fuck if you're aesthetically pleasing.
But, the good thing is if you're ugly, it won't HURT your game. You can get just as far with ugliness as you would with dashing good looks - it will just take a little more work on your game.
Of course, you can always improve your looks! There's plenty of info for that in the fitness/fashion sections of the site here.

(if you're a n00b and don't know what I just said, don't worry lol. keep reading.) Yeah, ok, this stuff might have worked on older girls, 6 or 7 years ago. But enter the new, refined, and MUCH EASIER TO LEARN type of game:
- "Inner game". This right here, is not PUA anymore. This is not "picking up" women at all! This is much, much more. This is self-esteem building: this is SELF-IMPROVEMENT.. And that, my friends, is so much better than just pickup. Yeah, it's still about getting into girls' pants, which I love just as much as the next guy. But it's got a bigger, overarching theme of teaching you to HACK YOUR MIND and in turn, MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER! That's fucking awesome in itself, and you could explore inner game forever and be satisfied without females. But the cool thing is that once you've hacked your mind, it carries over into your sex life, and makes getting girls 100x EASIER.
