What is the job of a wingman/woman?

What is the point of having a wingman/wingwoman? What is his or her role in attracting the HB to you?

Easy. You have a wingman for the same reason you have a workout partner. They push you when you don't want to push any further, also, they can diffuse bombs. If you're the one with the turn with the HB you don't want to have to deal with her grenade friends. To attract the chick to you....that's all you really. All he can do is talk you up, but unless the chick knows the dude, she'll see right through it.

Well if you think of in set, then they occupy the other people for however long you need. They talk good about you. Wingmen must always agree, as anything else causes confusion for the girls. Having a wingman makes it easier or possible to open a 2 set. A wing shouldnt join you talking to one girl.

Wings also make you feel more comfortable, in my opinion. It's easier to think of it as 'just you and a bud talking to some girls' than an 'approach' with a wing. As it's good to get experience with a wing (find a good one and have good chemistry & flow), it's more important to get experience solo. That's what you'll be most of the time anyway, never know when opportunities present itself

In my experience, unless you're in an already very social situation (bar, club, party) it's very hard to open (at least in my mind) solo. A wingman allows you to be those cute guys we met at the beach and not that kinda-cute-but-why-was-he-alone guy at the beach. Essentially I agree with Crateis.

So true!

As was also mentioned earlier, they take the friend(s) so you can get the girl much easier. A good wing will feed off you and you off him which just makes it more fun and natural for everyone.

Oh, and there can be some social proof given, more so with a wing woman.

They usually suck shit except for my one buddies gf, cause she knows she stole my wing man haha. Actually at a house party they can be decent if the know how to DHV you.

Thats what I thought, in regards to using women. Other than as a DHV, they're not good wingwomen.

I had a girl be a wing for me back in high school (used her whenever I couldn't get a hold of my standard wing). She was godly. She was a pretty damn good conversationalist, so she could give me something to hook onto if I was at a loss. She was pretty hot so she was a DHV in and of herself.

Also, she had that whole womanly insight thing. She could tell me if I was doing something wrong more than my male wing could. Of course that wasn't much use in set, but it was good for afterwards.

chicks are the best wingmen. Girls love competition.
For my good mates, i get my girlfriend to be their wingwomen for a set. It usually works out nicely. So don't write them off.
Guys can backfire, because if you're wing isn't good enough at making sure that you're the don of the group, your target can end up wanting him more than you.
