So my basic problem is I'm skinny, and wanting to gain weight. Stats: 5' 7.5"and around 127.5 pounds(fluctuates as you know). My goal for this summer was to weigh 150( ha!) For the past 8-10 weeks, I have been working out regularly following this www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw101.htm (the first answer) almost exactly(I avoid the exercises that cause me to lift weight above my head because my dad feels it will fuse my epiphysis of my arm and prevent any future height growth). In that time, I seem to have only gained 2.5 pounds...I read on here to eat a banana every day, (been doing that). I take whey protein shakes after every workout. I seem to have really poor genetics or something >:/ And since my goal is horribly unrealistic at this stage, could someone else suggest a more reasonable target weight?

You don't have poor genetics, you have poor eating habits. You need eat more if you want to gain weight/muscle. You probably think you're eating a lot, I'm telling that you're not. Eat more. Eat more at every meal, and even add another meal to your day. Just fucking eat - especially on your workout days.
I wouldn't recommend just avoiding all weight above your head. That's an important motion to work - don't skip it. Talk to a doctor about whatever condition you have and get the doctor's opinion on it.

I agree with nick. You have to eat a fuck-ton.
Im tall and damn toned and strong, but definately skinny. Im 5'11 and weighed 145ish. I made it to 160 at one point but it was just sickening how much I had to eat. It really is alot of work. Not only is it hard to stuff that much in your stomach but the food also requires money to buy it and time to prepare.
They say its 6x harder to gain than to lose. I personally gave up on it as it just wasnt worth it but I'm still happy with how I look.
Also, its important that the mass amounts of food you take in are healthy and balanced which just makes it that much more difficult.

That program is pretty shit. Use starting strength or something similar, they're far better starting points. Also your dad is wrong, there's absolutely no evidence to support that lifting will stunt your growth. You can lift, just have good form. Eating a banana and drinking a little whey? Yeah that's going to have zero effect. You need to eat far more. Preferably eat your biggest meals postworkout.

Don't just eat more per meal, eat more in between too. Create solid eating habits that don't rely on other people forging food for you. For example drinking a ton of milk help a lot with this.
Also, lifts that mainly involve the spine are the ones to be aware of considering stunted growth, not overhead lifts such as press and bench press. Like danzy, I don't believe in stunted growth while working out smartly.

if you're struggling to eat more, try having 2 protein shakes a day. not just after a workout. everyday. you should see a difference

I just got the livestrong app to track my calories, and I've been set at a 3,033 calorie goal. Should that be enough or should I aiming for something even higher?

3000 is what I eat and I dont gain. Eat a shit ton, as much as you can then more. Trail mix is a good solution. You can take it anywhere, hella protein, testosterone, very calorie dense.
