I'm (hopefully) going to University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, which is not only a good party school, but also has the biggest Greek life out of any uni.
Is anyone in here in a frat? What are some pros/cons to joining one?

I've visited the Theta Chi chapter there for a leadership conference...and its fucking awesome. Definitely check it out

I applied to UIUC cuz my big brother went there. I'm brown, and I don't wanna be in a Indian frat like SigRho, so i'm fucked

Dudes, just go rush as many frats as you can. Rushing is no commitment and you'll make friends even if you don't join. The worst that can is you get a couple free BBQs and meet people, the best is you find a group of awesome dudes that you want to join.

Canadian's right. I have the advantage of my brother being the president of his frat at the same school we're at (PSU mothafuckas) but frat life there is sick. Besides all the partying, all the brothers are best friends. Totally chill guys. Plus, frats have socials with sororities.

Dude, I live in Illinois so I got a bunch of friends going to U of I (year older than me, i'm a HS senior), and I've heard the frats are sick as hell. I visited a buddy of mine there a couple weeks ago and he was saying how awesome the frats there were, and also the frat party I went to was pretty fun. I would defnitely join one.

Every house and chapter is different no matter where you go. For instance, the Pikes at Auburn fucking suck compared to my chapter.
Being a rushee is the shit, you can get drunk where ever you go and you go out to dinner for free. So its in your best interest to go check out all the houses. Don't be afraid to text the rush chair of a fraternity you think you might like
Something I did though to get a feel for the houses was ask people that already go there. I asked my orientation leader who is in a sorority as well as a few other people and they told me whats up.
