if you wont make statements cause u know nothing about her then you're being a pussy. I've gone up to girls i dont even know and told them they look like the sort of girl that are good dancers, or ANYTHING. And then i've built a huge role play around it. It's easy you're just too nervous to spread your wings.

Usually when I am getting to know a girl over text for the first or second time, there is almost always a "get-to-know-each-other' period where we just ask questions about each other. This builds comfort and information with the person and helps out with conversations down the road.
Do you know is she plays sports or what she does in her spare time? I sometimes like to talk about that kind of stuff if I have nothing to talk about. Don't be a stalker but if everyone knows she plays basketball for example, ask her about that, experiences you have had playing basketball, etc.
Use her interests as an advantage, she will enjoy the conversation because you are talking about things she enjoys obviously, and then the conversations should improve from there.
