I really do. A lot of things have changed since last year. I was in a close-knit group of seven guys, and we had a lot of fun times going to the mall and movies. Then one of them moved to Florida, and we had to continue on without him. It was still pretty fun, we had good times, but now it’s starting to fade, if it hasn’t already.
Just about every fucking weekend we find ourselves on Xbox bored out of our minds trying to find something to do. Well, it’s obvious what to fucking do: stop aimlessly searching for a new game in the limited selection we’ve tired out so much by now and go out and do something; go to the movies to see some new shit, go to the mall to meet girls or even just screw with employees until we get kicked out, I don’t care. Oh, but nobody wants to solve the problem, and that’s the center of all this: none of my friends are motivated enough to do shit. We used to go to the mall often enough and when doing ridiculous things became too “immature” (yeah yeah, you’re probably tired of me stressing that by now), we ended up actually going to the mall and just walking around. I swear that was the actual plan, like when I asked one of us what we should do the response was usually “I don’t know, walk around” or something along those lines.
There were 7 of us; let me break down how we all broke down.
1. Moved
2. Doesn’t care enough to go to the mall and doesn’t like spending money
3. Pretty much gone ghost and hangs out with another group (and from what I hear, got a crazy girlfriend)
4. Got a girlfriend and has since gone MIA
5. Also got a girlfriend and has since gone MIA
6. Has a job and usually can’t make it, and isn’t willing to approach girls
7. Realizes he has to find a solution to this shit or just leave (guess who this one is)
I love all these guys, we’ve been through a lot of good and bad times, but I can’t deal with this sedentary weekend lifestyle any fucking more. I mean, I understand not wanting to spend money, but if we actually put any thought into just having fun, we could probably find a way not to. If you’ve got a girlfriend, awesome, but don’t fucking forget what got you where you were. A job is a commitment, I get that, but would you rather be bending over for your boss your whole teenage life (and then some) or having an eventful teenage life? Not saying that’s what’s always gonna happen, but at the rate it’s going it’s not getting any better. But I think the biggest problem here is, like I already said, the lack of motivation; they didn’t just not wanna mess with employees or whatever, they flat out didn’t have the balls to approach random girls, let alone leave the damn house. I’m always hearing from them that the “Mall is boring”, well no shit Sherlock, it’s because we make it boring! There’s probably a ton of things we could do if we actually put the time into thinking about it, instead of what new game to buy that we’re inevitably gonna get tired of. Actually, no, fuck thinking so hard about it, we know what we love to do, why deny ourselves that pleasure?
I’m not a master at this pick up shit by any means, I still have a lot to learn about what it means to be a man and feel good about yourself and all that, but I still do my best to tell these guys (or at least the one that’ll listen) that getting rejected isn’t anything big to be afraid of, especially at the mall of all places. It’s probably gonna happen, so why not just take it with a grain of salt? I’m getting pretty off topic though.
You’re probably wondering “Why don’t you just make new friends in school dipshit? Isn’t that what it’s for?” I’d love to, if there wasn’t the issue of everyone living so damn far. I live about 30 minutes away from the school by car, and when you have to rely on your parents to drive you everywhere, you’re not gonna get far; I can only imagine how far their houses must be, and I’m not taking a damn bus to the district either. I think the best and most obvious solution would be to change schools. I honestly do have a small circle here that would be pretty sad to leave, but I never hang out with them either (besides a few birthday parties here and there), even the ones that do live rather close. My situation academic-wise isn’t great either, but that is a completely different story. I’m just trying to say, there’s nothing for me to really gain by staying in this school, and you know what? There’s not much to gain with my current group of friends either, as much as I hate admitting it. I’m really at a standstill of what to do; switching schools can be a bitch that can harm or help you socially as much as it can academically, so I don’t know what to do.
All I know is I’m fucking sick of it all, and it’s gotta stop now.
