Anyone know of some workouts or have some sites with workouts that don't require weights? I'm looking for something that hits most muscle groups with minimal cardio (I'm starting Insanity for that), but my focus is to gain strength and a lot of it. I'll be lifting towards the end of the summer, but I wanna start out with some of the no-weight options. Right now all I'm doing is 3 sets of MAX push-ups in the morning and the daily RandomAbs.com workout twice a day.

Well I can only think of the corny stuff, like pull-ups, sit-ups and all that, but there's also dips, crunches, and wide grip pull-ups. I can direct you here just because I don't have an answer myself; it'll probably have an answer somewhere. Why no immediate equipment usage anyway?

I'm trying to remain strong while losing weight, and in my head it's always good to be able to work out without weights even though I have a gym membership. I'm sculpting my body to what I want it to be and it's just the path I wanted to take to do it.

I can help you out here. Check out www.gymnasticbodies.com and www.eatmoveimprove.com There are tons of things you can do with some floor space and a pull-up bar. Look at elite gymnasts - They're ridiculously ripped, and they did it with no weights. The book Overcoming Gravity by Steven Low is an awesome resource, if you can spare the cash it's well worth it. You can grab it from Amazon. The advantage to bodyweight workouts is that you can do them most anywhere, and you also gain a lot more body control and body awareness than doing weights will give you. Also nutrition is a big deal - Check out the Paleo Diet, www.robbwolf.com. Paleo eating has done wonders for my health and physique. Hope that helps bro, let us know how you get on

The second month of insanity is actually mostly strength exercises. I'm sure its a lot of cardio to most people, but it's not compared to the first month. Its basically a shit load of pushups and plyo. Even the cardio workout is mostly strength. I think I gained 10 pounds on the second month of insanity (but I did lose about 5 after the first month). So yeah you might want to watch one of the workouts to see if that's what you're looking for.

Try making up your own workout. when i didnt have a gym membership, cause it was damn expensive, i mixed up different things like push ups, close grip, wide grip, jumping jacks, sit ups, just do different things in a circuit and then repeat it 3 times and you get a good workout. this was mine back then, 30 push ups 50 crunches 30 wide push ups 50 side to sides 30 diamond push ups plank for 1 min. rinse and repeat.
