For the first time in my life I'm trying to get straight As.
But it's a lot harder than I expected. I'm getting mostly Bs and one A right now....
What do you guys do to improve your grades??

Getting straight A's is going to be hard. If it was easy everyone would do it. You're going to have to make some changes to how you study and behave in class. If you can, sit in the front row; It will force you to pay better attention than sitting in the back will. Learn how to take better notes and make them very organized; this is really going to be up to preference, you have to find what note taking style works for you. Read your notes right before class and right after class. Both of these will reinforce what you learned and commit it to memory. STUDY. You need to spend time studying outside of school. I don't mean fifteen minutes, or a half hour, I mean if you REALLY want to get straight A's, you're going to have to study for hours if you have to. But hey, this is high school, maybe you wont. But maybe you will. Be prepared and willing to do it. Finally, go to extra help. If there is anything you don't quite understand, go to extra help. If a test is coming up, go to extra help. If you are solid on the material, just doing problems with the kids that don't understand it might not help. So set up a time with your teacher to go through the material and see what you will need to focus on for the test. Lastly, if you're really struggling with the class, either go to the teacher and ask what you can do to get better, or find the kid that's getting an A in the class and ask them to help you study. Don't be a pussy about it, if you really want straight A's, ask the people who GET straight A's how they get them.
OH and EXTRA CREDIT. I regret not doing the extra credits in school, cause in college you hope to GOD you get extra credit. It's extra points that you don't need to take a test to get! It's EASY points! Do it. All of it.
