When I'm in a conversation especially a group conversation I always find myself not as creative or funny and always in my head.. Sometimes I'm the funniest most fun kid but most of the time I am thinking of something to say or just thinking to myself that it's too late to say something.. I have always been in my head ever since I was a little boy and still struggle with this.. I just want to always "be myself" no matter the environment.. Does anyone have any advice?

Yeah, I've had the same problem throughout high school. I wanted everyone to like me, so I always tried to be very cautious about what I said so that I didn't offend anyone. Problem is, I became that really nice guy that never quite seemed fit in. As a general rule, if you want to say something say it and if you want to do something do it. People will forgive you if you offend them a few times as long as you aren't always making weird comments. If you aren't trying to be offensive with your jokes, this won't be a problem. Personally, I had been inside my head so long that, although I wanted to be myself, I didn't know exactally who that was anymore. One of the best things you can do is sit down and write a list of values you have. For example:
Be outgoing Make people laugh Talk to girls you like Etc.
They can be whatever you want really. The important thing is that you can look back at these goals and reflect on whether or not you are making progress towards them. If you tell a joke that gets taken wrong by the group, you can look back at your list and realize that, even though the outcome wasn't good, you're still working toward your goals because you made the effort.

Since I used to have the same problem as you (and still do but not as bad) I was constantly searching around for advice and nothing ever worked. I tried thinking less, being more positive, listening more, ect. but it did no good.
What will help is surprisingly meditation. When you are in those situations it is likely because you are thinking too hard and trying to be too impressive to others instead of expressing your true self. Just a quick meditation excercise each morning before school (like 5 min) of breathing in and out and letting your thoughts escape by concentrating on your breathing can give you a natural high feeling.
I am no professional scientist or anything and I am no expert at doing meditation so if you dont know how to do it then watch some youtube videos on how. It is not as easy as you think and it will take dedication and patience. i saw that you posted this a while ago so give me feedback on how everything goes. Good luck.
